Order Changes / Cancellations

To serve you better, ULTA.com will begin to process your order immediately after you click the SUBMIT ORDER button. Because our system processes orders immediately, we are unable to change or cancel an order once it is submitted.

Return Policy

Ulta Beauty is dedicated to bringing you an unparalleled shopping experience from start to finish! If you're not completely satisfied with a product for any reason, just return the product to us for a full refund. Here's how:

Time limit on returns:

Products must be returned within 60 days of the Process Date on the order packing slip to receive a refund to the payment method used on ULTA.com. An Ulta Beauty Gift Card or eGift Card will be issued for returns of products after 60 days of the Process Date on the order packing slip when returned to the processing center.

Returning free products/gift with purchase:

You may keep the free gift with purchase that you received as a part of your order.

Payment credit
  • Products returned to stores that were purchased using an online payment service (i.e., PayPal, PayPal Credit) will be refunded to your preferred credit card or issued as a store merchandise credit.
  • Store credit will be issued for returns without a receipt, or for returns that are not made within 60 days of purchase or shipment to the customer.
  • A store credit will be issued on a return, providing the return is accompanied by the Gift Receipt.
  • Ulta.com orders placed using a gift card and returned to the Ulta Beauty returns center will receive a new e-gift card for the return value.
  • In the case of shipping damages, please contact the carrier.
Ultamate Rewards Points
  • Rewards points earned for product being returned will be deducted from your account.
  • If you redeemed your rewards points to buy an item and then return it, those points will be added back to your Ultamate Rewards balance.
  • If you purchased multiple items in a transaction and you only return one item, you will have the proportionate number of the points added back to your Ultamate Rewards balance. Those points will be available for use on your next transaction.
  • You can always choose to exchange the item for something else in the store and receive the same discount - we have more than 20,000 items for you to choose from!
Returning your ULTA.com Order
  • Refunding shipping fee:
    Original shipping charges paid at the time of ULTA.com order submit are refunded only if the product is defective or mis-shipped by ULTA.
  • Return your ulta.com order to an Ulta Beauty store
    • Bring your original email order confirmation, packing slip and all original packaging materials to your nearest store
    • No need to bring the packing slip if you used your Ultamate Rewards account to make the purchase. If you did not use your Ultamate Rewards card, then bring your packing slip, email order confirmation, and all original packaging materials to your nearest store.
    • To reprint the order confirmation email, locate the order number on the bottom of the pack slip. Login to your ULTA.com account, select order status. Then select your order number to print.
    • Online purchases returned to an Ulta Beauty store without the original email receipt and pack slip are only eligible for exchanges or store credit at the current lowest selling price.
    • Online purchases, returned in store, are not eligible for return of purchase shipping costs or gift wrapping charges.
    Return package shipping fee:
  • ULTA does not accept CODs for returned merchandise. Return shipping charges are the responsibility of the purchaser.
  • To avoid return shipping cost, you may bring your merchandise and the packing slip to your nearest Ulta Beauty Store
  • Returning your ulta.com order by mail
    • Apply the return mailing label outside your returns shipping carton. Mailing label is included in your shipping package.
    • Mail your return using a traceable ground shipping method (we recommend UPS or the U.S. Postal Service insured mail) to:

    • RETURN PRODUCTS TO ULTA BY GROUND-ONLY SHIPPING METHODS - Certain items in your order may be considered Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT). Hazardous Materials are as follows: aerosol items, some alcohol-based items, items that contain contents under pressure, and others (e.g., hairspray, nail polish and items containing flammable, volatile or corrosive chemicals). The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) requires ground-only shipment of Hazardous Materials due to air shipment restrictions and regulations.
    • Returns Notification
      • For products returned to the ULTA Returns center, we will notify you via email when we have processed your order and issued a refund. You can also login to your ULTA.com account, click order status and look up your order for the return status.
      Returns processing time
      • Please allow us 30 business days for receiving and processing your online order return.
      • Credit will appear on your account within 7-10 days after we processed your return. Credit will appear on your statement within two billing periods depending on your billing cycle.
Returning your store purchase in store
  • If for any reason you're not 100% satisfied with your purchase, it may be returned. All returns must be accompanied by the receipt and all original components.
  • A full refund will be issued on a return, providing the return is within 60 days of the original purchase date.
  • A full refund will be issued on a return that included a FREE product or FREE gift, providing the return is within 60 days of original purchase date
  • Credit will be issued on a return after 60 days of original purchase date.
  • A store credit will be issued on a return, providing the return is accompanied by the Gift Receipt.
  • A return without a receipt and without the use of an Ultamate rewards card ; refund will be on a merchandise credit at the current lowest selling price
Returned Check Policy:

A service fee will be added for any check returned unpaid by the bank. In accordance with State law, NSF Checks may be submitted to your bank electronically. A 10-day waiting period is required for refunds on personal checks.

Coupon Rewards Certificates:

Unfortunately, we are unable to return the coupon code you used for your purchase

Exchanges
  • Products ordered online can be exchanged in your local store.
  • Customers are responsible for paying any additional difference in price and sales tax for exchanges of greater value. A store credit will be issued for the difference in price and tax for exchanges of lesser value without a receipt.

Standard Ground Shipping



  • Our Standard Shipping combines the capabilities of UPS and USPS, delivering packages to you more efficiently. UPS will deliver your package to your local post office, where your postal carrier will make the final delivery to your door or mailbox.
  • This allows packages to arrive on Saturday as well as any other business day. Tracking is still available through UPS and will indicate the estimated delivery date.
  • This shipping method is available for shipments to Continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Territories, PO Boxes and APO/FPO addresses.
  • This shipping method is the only shipping method available for shipments to U.S. Territories, PO Boxes and APO/FPO addresses.
UPS 2nd Day Air and UPS Next Day Air
This shipping method is available for shipments to Continental U.S., Alaska and Hawaii addresses only.
ULTA Processing Time
Orders received by 12PM CST (Monday-Friday) are typically processed the same day.
Orders received after 12PM CST or on Saturday and Sunday are normally processed the next business day.
Shipping Restrictions

Not all Shipping Methods are available for all shipping addresses. Refer to the Shipping details above for available Shipping Methods for your address.

All orders containing Hazardous Materials have restrictions. See below for details.

Hazardous Materials

Certain items in your order may be considered Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT). All orders containing Hazardous Materials must be shipped via Standard Ground Shipping and cannot be shipped via UPS 2nd Day Air or UPS Next Day Air. All orders containing Hazardous Materials can only be shipped to addresses within the Continental U.S. and cannot be shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Territories, PO Boxes or APO/ FPO addresses.

Ulta Beauty Coupon and Promotion Exclusions and Restrictions

Ulta Beauty carries more than 20,000 products and over 1000 fabulous brands, but unfortunately, our coupons sometimes exclude a small number of these products and brands. We wish we could extend these special offers far and wide on all of the products and services we offer, but we are often limited by reasons beyond our control. Please know we are always looking for opportunities to provide added value and the best prices available to our customers and thank you for your understanding.

Please note the following list of exclusions and restrictions that generally apply to ULTA coupons:

  • Excludes salon and Benefit Brow Bar services, fragrance, and some prestige brands of cosmetics, skincare, haircare, and nail.
  • Cannot be redeemed for cash or gift cards.
  • Cannot be combined with any other ULTA coupon offer.
  • Not valid on prior purchases.
  • Limit one per customer.
  • Valid through dates specified on coupon or promotion.
  • Void if copied or transferred and where prohibited by law.

Redeeming Coupons - ULTA.com

To redeem an ULTA coupon with a valid coupon code, place all items you would like to purchase in your shopping basket. Redeem your coupon by entering the coupon code in the space provided and click APPLY CODE. If the coupon code is valid, the applicable discount or promotion will appear in the shopping basket. Please note that not all in-store coupons and promotions can be redeemed on ULTA.com and not all ULTA.com coupons and promotions can be redeemed in-store.

Only one coupon code may be redeemed per order on ULTA.com and each coupon code may only be redeemed once.

Redeeming coupons in an Ulta Beauty store

Coupon /need to be presented at time of purchase and within the specified dates. Expired Coupon / Reward Certificates will not be accepted. Prior purchases do not qualify for use with coupon / reward certificates.

Shipping Promotions

Orders qualifying for FREE or discounted shipping promotions are shipped via our Standard Ground Shipping service only. FREE or discounted shipping is available in the Continental U.S. only, and excludes Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Territories, PO Boxes, APO/FPO addresses and oversized packages.

Product Availability

ULTA.com makes every effort to ensure that all of the merchandise we feature is in stock.

In the event that an item becomes out of stock after your order is submitted, we will ship the rest of the items in your order and send you an email indicating that one of your selected items is out of stock. You will not be charged for the out of stock item. We will not ship the item when it is back in stock, as we do not have a backorder system.

    Orders placed with credit/ debit Card
    • Your financial institution will place a temporary hold on the funds for your order as it processes. This is not a charge and the hold will be released once your order has shipped.
    • You may receive more than one shipment notice as items in your order ship,but you will not be charged until we send you the final shipment notice.Once you receive the final shipment notice, your card will be charged and the temporary hold will be released.
    • We only charge you for items that have shipped. Any item(s) that are cancelled and/or can no longer be shipped will not be charged and your final shipment notice will contain an adjusted price.
    Orders placed with Ulta Gift Cards
    • Once you submit your order, the funds will immediately be deducted from your Ulta Gift Card.
    • Hold onto your Ulta Beauty Gift Card until you receive your entire order. If we can't fulfill the portion of your order that was paid for with your Gift Card, we'll return the money to it when you get your final shipment email.
    Orders placed with Ultamate Rewards points
    • A temporary hold will be placed on the Ultamate Rewards points you’ve redeemed to pay for your order.
    • Once your order ships and you’ve received your final shipment notice, the hold will be released and the points will be deducted from your account.
For Unsuccessfully Submitted Orders Placed with credit/ debit Card
    • Your financial institution will place a temporary hold on your card for the amount of the order when:
      • An order is attempted, but not successfully submitted
      • The order is ultimately fully cancelled
    • The temporary hold is in anticipation of the order being shipped. You won’t be charged for an unsuccessful order submission and the temporary hold will expire automatically within the timeframe set by your financial institution.
    Fully cancelled orders:
    • If your order has been fully cancelled, the temporary hold will expire automatically within the timeframe set by your financial institution. You may also contact us to release the hold with the following information:
      • First and Last Name
      • Order Number
    • If you used an Ulta Beauty Gift Card to pay for any part of your order, the money will be returned to it at the time your order is cancelled.
    • Any hold placed on your Ultamate Rewards Points will automatically be released within 14 days from the order submission.
Security:
  • For your own security, you won’t be able to submit an order on ULTA.com if the billing address, credit card expiration date and/or security code doesn’t match your credit card statement.
  • ULTA.com requires you to enter the correct security code with every purchase. We will not remember your security code
Tax
  • Sales and shipping tax will be applied to your ULTA.com order depending on the items and the laws of the state where the order is shipped. You’ll see the tax in your order summary before submitting the order.

Gift Wrap / Gift Box

Sending a gift?

Depending on the time of year, we offer gift wrapping or gift boxes plus personalized gift note services. We offer gift wrapping from January through October and we offer gift boxes from November through December. Choose a gift option in the Shopping Basket and we will wrap or box your purchase and we will include an optional personalized message with your order.

PLEASE NOTE: Individual items within an order cannot be wrapped or boxed separately. Oversized/overweight items are not eligible for gift services.
