STEPS:

Purple reigns in our Behind the Scenes video shoot in which Ulta and make-up artist, Denise Markey, take a cue from a key beauty trend on the Fall runways - featuring rich shades of purples and plums - and demonstrate how to Get the Look.

Step 1: Denise begins by prepping Olga's skin with Benefit's POREfessional to smooth fine lines and minimize pores. She lightly taps and blends the balm around the face.

Step 2: She then dusts Pur Minerals 4-in-1 powder with a large brush to set and even the base.

Step 3: Denise chooses a plum blush from Lorac for a slight flush of color. Tapping off the excess powder she applies the blush down from the temple to just below the apple of Olga's cheek.

Step 4: Perfectly groomed brows are essential for any look. Denise uses Anastasia Brow Gel in an upward motion to set the brow. Best of all - it won't change your brow color and lasts without flaking.

Step 5: To achieve the focus of this look – Olga's plum eye, Denise begins by applying bareMinerals Prime Time Eye Primer with a sponge tip applicator and then blends it with her fingertips to smooth out the lid. It's a perfect base for color.

Step 6: She uses several shades of bareMinerals Eye Shadows starting with Water Lily, the base shade, applied with a larger sized eye shadow brush for maximum coverage. She taps off the excess and sweeps it over Olga's lid from the lash to the arch of her eye.

Step 7: She adds Passionate Plum, a slightly darker shade, to the crease starting about three quarters of the way in and extends it out a bit past the lid. These loose powder pigments are versatile, fun to work with and can be used wet or dry so you can vary the intensity of the color.

Step 8: Using Stila Smudge Stick, a water-proof eyeliner, in Purple Tang to compliment the plum palette, Denise applies the pencil in little dashes along and just a touch above the lash line. It doesn't need to be perfect – you'll just blend and soften the line with Sugar Plum, the darker shade from bareMinerals with a small shadow brush. She smudges a bit of color under the eye for definition.

Step 9: Denise adds Benefit Eye Bright under the brow and on the inner corner of the eye to brighten and pop the plum.

Step 10: To complete the eye, Denise applies Too Faced Lash Injection volumizing mascara by wiggling the brush from side to side coating Olga's lashes from base to tips. When adding mascara to the lower lashes, Denise starts close to the lash line and avoids a spidery look by not extending the mascara to the end of the lashes.

Step 11: The lip is the finishing touch and Denise suggests keeping it subdued with a strong eye. She begins by lining Olga's lip with Ulta's Lip pencil in flesh and uses a lip brush to soften and smooth the edges. She applies Saucy Mauve, a rose cream color from L'Oreal dabbing it lightly over the lip with her finger for the perfect pout.

So this fall --- go a little Plum crazy.

Ulta: the store on everyone's lips… and brows… and eyes… and face.
