Comments about Hot Tools Gold Curling Iron:

I use this not to necessarily give my hair curls, but to add body to my hair for casual outings. It is very durable (I am a model and my beauty products tend to be thrown around a lot as I travel with them.) It heats up fast and has multiple settings. It is not good for if you want tighter curls and makes your hair frizzy after using it for a couple of days. Make sure to put heat protector on your hair before use.

Comments about Hot Tools Gold Curling Iron:

Great curling iron. I purchased this upon reading the reviews of others and I'm glad that I did. I had a Revlon and was looking to upgrade and so glad that I went with this model. My hair holds curl a little better now. Great purchase.

Comments about Hot Tools Gold Curling Iron:

The lever that holds your hair is sticking on my curling iron about 6 weeks outside my warranty expiration. This is disappointing. I've had cheaper curling irons last MUCH longer.
The roller on the spring has worn a groove into the metal and can't be adjusted back in to place. So replacing it with the extra spring it comes with won't fix the problem.

Aside from it not lasting, I loved my curling iron. It heats up quickly and does a fantastic job on my extra long, very thick hair. I bought the gold curling iron because reviews said the coating on the ceramic and rainbow irons flaked off. Overall I think the product is great out of the box but needs work on lasting quality.

I don't use the clamps and just use the barrel itself. I always get compliments using this iron.

Comments about Hot Tools Gold Curling Iron:

I always use this product by wrapping my hair around the barrel itself. It created a natural wave and reduces the frizz that my very, very thick hair contains. I spray it with Not Your Mothers Beach Wave spray and it keeps the waves/curls in until I wash it out in the shower. Its great, definitely recommend.

We suggest using the 1-1/4 in. barrel size to achieve large, loose curls that can be combed through to create waves.

                      A:

The most important thing to know to reduce damage is to use the correct temperature on the iron for your hair type and texture. Additionally, we recommend using styling products with thermal protectant properties to help further reduce damage to hair. If your hair is already damaged and prone to breakage, you may prefer to use a ceramic iron such as Hot Tools CeramicTI Tourmaline Curling Iron:

I have very hard to curl hair, I get a curl out of my curling iron but automatically the curl will start to fall and by the time I'm done with my whole head the curls are very loose and flat. With that being said, will the hot tools curling iron keep the curl? Even with my very fine hair?

This tool is designed with a 24K gold-plated barrel to heat quickly and evenly for professional results. It works on all hair types and textures, including very fine hair. To extend the life of your curls, we recommend setting your style with a finishing hair spray with medium to firm hold.
