I am a teenager(16).
It lasted over two years and just stopped working my last day of school (Wednesday) :( so I wasn't happy about that, but at least I was almost completely finished.
I was happy with this product and it was very reliable and not expensive at all.
It heated up very fast so I didn't have to wait forever and curled my thin wavy hair very good.
The only thing I did notice was that about a month or two ago the clamp began to squeak and I suppose I used it too much because the actual clam bent to the point where I could not open the clam anymore.
Considering the price and the one year warranty, I would say this was a very good product.

I bought this curling iron along with another larger barrel size about 9 months ago. I don't use this one as much, but like the look of smaller curls and waves for special occasions. When I went to curl my hair this weekend, the black cap that is attached at the end had melted off the barrel! I did not have it plugged in for more than 2 monutes before I noticed. For the amount of money I paid for this product, I am very disappointed that it isn't made better.

The hot tools gold curling iron works great! It does get very hot and stays at the set temperature. My hair is very thick and somewhat frizzy. I use this to smooth out my hair and create curls. The curls last for several days with very little touch up. The only reason for the 4 star rating is because there is no automatic shut-off. I can definitely recommend this iron.

I love this iron. I have bought several over the years. This one heats up fast, creats the perfect curl but my favorite part is that it's truly a 'non kink' cord. Some irons have the end swivels but they always fail. This one is wonderful!!
