This product simply does not work on thick semi-wavy hair. It certainly heats up quickly, and creates a curl - that disappears in 5 mins. no matter what hair spray you put in it. We tried it again holding the iron longer - the curl simply disappears. Maybe if we were working with different hair it would work. Returning the product less than 48 hours after purchasing it.

I love how my curls would last for hours with this iron. My hair didn't slip out of the clamp, which is a plus. My ONLY complaint is that this iron weighs more than my previous one, so it took a little getting used to. The benefits far outweigh the cons! I am very pleased!

I have perfectly straight hair and the curly does a great job at curly them nicely. I have very thick hair and although it takes time the curl turns out great and holds for hours, curling a lot at a time works too :)
