Got these after visiting the salon at Ulta and asked the hair dresser what could i do on my own to give my hair volume. she brought the product over and told her to show me how to use it. It was as simple as dividing my hair in 4 parts and rolling them in. I leave them in the whole time I'm getting ready and take off right when I'm going out the door this product gives my hair LIFE!

Comments about Conair Big Curls Travel Setter:

I've been using hot rollers to curl my hair for about two years now. I find that they are less damaging than a curling iron, and I love that I can put them in and then finish getting ready. I normally use a full-sized Conair set, which works perfectly.

I bought this mini-set for on-the-go. It's great that it comes with clips, and it's got just enough rollers for all of my hair. However, the rollers do not heat nearly enough to curl hair. This is because the rollers sit on top of little heated nubs rather than full heated rods, like most sets have. This means that only the bottom of the roller heats up. I allowed mine to heat for about 30 minutes and left them in my hair for another 30. Normally this would give me china doll curls! Rather, I was left with soft waves that 100% flattened out after 15 minutes and hairspray. I wasn't even left with volume.

I normally don't even write reviews, but since I noticed so many mixed reviews here I thought I'd share my experience. Spend the extra $15 or $20 and get the full-sized set.

Comments about Conair Big Curls Travel Setter:

This was a replacement for the previous style of same product, which I have owned 3 of. Lid cracked over time on all 3, so was time to replace. This new one was totally disappointing. Lid was thin and felt flimsy. Curlers sit on a short post instead of fitting down over a slim bar. Not all of them would sit on post correctly and therefore did not heat well. Returned it after one use.

Comments about Conair Big Curls Travel Setter:

Like several reviewers, I purchased this set to replace a set of similar rollers from over 20 years ago. Yes, the original set from Conair lasted that long, and the only issue was a cracked lid! I have fine, wavy hair that is prone to frizz. I blow dry my hair with very minimal styling (or effort) and then set it with these rollers. I remove them after they cool, and I'm left with body and smooth, loose, waves. I get similar results with a blow dryer, round brush, and Velcro rollers, but that takes more time and effort on my part. My set came with the original U shaped pins and some weird plastic clamps. I threw away the plastic ones. The old metal ones are best.
