Comments about L'Oréal Frost and Design Kit:

I love this product. My hair is light brown/dark blond and the highlights make me feel-look so much younger than my 62 yr! I prefer the highlight cap to the salon foils, because it looks more natural. Whenever I get my hair cut, the stylists frequently comment on how well and professional the highlights look. Hooray!

This kit is great. I got the same results using this as if I spent $100 or + going to a salon to have my hair highlighted. You might want someone to help you do this though. I couldn't do it by myself.

Much more gentle than other products I have used and I have highlighted my hair on my own for more than 10 years. Easy to use and not brassy color thanks to the purple rinse at the end.

Comments about L'Oréal Frost and Design Kit:

LOVE this product! I'm a natural blonde (ice/white blonde when I was younger that has darkened to a level 8 currently with tons of natural golden/red undertones) and I love changing up my hair color. After using an all-over color product that essentially made my hair a one-dimensional color, I wanted to brighten things up and add some depth without doing another all-over color since my hair had suffered enough. I was a little hesitant that my hair might turn orange or that the product wouldn't react well with the permanent color I already had but I took the plunge anyways.

Two down-sides: it's time-consuming and the hooks aren't very pointed. I spent about 20 minutes trying to pull my own hair through the cap before giving up and asking my friend for help. My stick-straight hair is fine-medium in thickness so I'd imagine this process would be much more difficult for someone with super thick or curly hair. The hooks they give you aren't pointy enough to catch the hair unless it's angled perpendicular to your scalp. You can do it on your own but it's so much easier and quicker if someone else pulls the hair through for you! We followed the directions to a T and the rest of the process (mixing the bleaching powder, application, etc) was a breeze! I checked the color every 5 minutes so it wouldn't over-process and when it lightened to the desired color, I rinsed and towel-dried my hair before toning with the included packet. My hair did feel a little dry/crunchy when I got out of the shower but I expected that because of the bleach. I let it air dry after toning and didn't wash it or use any heat on it for 2 days that way my hair's natural oils could redistribute. Be prepared to use deep conditioners or just let your normal conditioner sit on your hair an extra 3-5 minutes every wash for about the next week to prevent damage.

Despite slight hair damage and the time-consuming pull-through process, I still love this product. I've never been able to achieve such gorgeous, natural looking highlights at home before finding this gem! I can't afford professional highlights but no longer need them when I'm constantly being asked by strangers where I got my hair highlighted because this product left me with salon-quality results! Nobody believes me when I tell them I did it at home with a box kit. And it's so long-lasting! I used this almost two months ago and it still looks like I just had them done. I'll definitely be re-purchasing!

I've used SO many highlighting kits & I've never had a bad experience, but this kit is by far the best. The color results were fabulous! I'm not sure if its because of the toner that is included, but I've definitely found my new go to highlighting kit.

Comments about L'Oréal Frost and Design Kit:

It gave me natural looking highlights if I was a raccoon. I have used other kits with success, but this expirience has been awful. I did a color patch test and it looked ok. I mixed the batch for my hair and ten minutes earlier than the test straind my hair was bleached white. Yayyyy I tried to cover up three white hairs and now I have 3000.So I am headed to the salon to see if it can be fixed, or shave my head.

Comments about L'Oréal Frost and Design Kit:

I am highly upset with this product. My daughters hair was always blonde and over the last year it got really dark. She started loosing her self-esteem badly and was really down in the dumps, so I said, hey lets do your hair! She was totally psyched! She obviously chose blonde, her hair is very long and is what some would consider as a dark blond or super light brown. We matched her hair color to the side of the box and decided it should turn out great! The first night we tried pulling her hair through the cap, it took so long just to get one side done, we ended up giving up and going to bed! Re-started the next day, having the same issues, pulling her hair out of the other holes and tangling it terribly! It was my worst experience with a cap ever! And it says great for long hair? Not! After many many hours of pulling and yanking her hair to get it through the holes, finally we were ready to color! We did everything as directions stated, even followed some tips on line etc. When it was all said and done, it was half gold and half bleach blond, spots all through her hair? alot of the strands were still the light brown color about 2 inches or 3 inches down the strand, others started up close to the roots. It turned out horrible. It completely ruined her hair. We are both more than disappointed and would NEVER recommend this product to a friend or even an enemy. I was very dissatisfied with the product and when it was all over, I took another look at the cap, and it appears the holes are not evenly spaced, we only pulled hair through the holes with circles around them, but when i started looking at the holes closely and the pattern, there was no pattern it was obviously a manufacturer defect. I think they need to be a lot more careful when manufacturing these caps, need to realize they are not only messing with someones hair colour, but with someones entire life! I cannot express enough how disappointed we are!!! Thanks for taking my daughters low self-esteem and burying it in the ground!

Comments about L'Oréal Frost and Design Kit:

I finally got up the nerve to highlight my hair after having spent ludicrous amounts of money getting it done at various salons--and never being happy with results; what a waste of money! I used the caramel color (I have very dark hair) and applied it with my fingertips in an ombre effect (about three inches below root). It came out beautiful. I received so many compliments on my hair. I'm heading out to the store now to get another box since the highlights have grown out--I'm so excited!
