Comments about Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X:

I have used another layer that slowed down growth. I finally took the plunge and bought the Tria after reading reviews for over a year. It is light weight and so easy. The cord free makes it easier to move around. I love it so far. I use the highest setting and have no problems so far. Started on lower legs and then will move on up.

This product is very useless and very expensive. This products works best for less hair growth specially on ladies. I would not recommend this product to anyone for this price.

Tria has been an absolute lifesaver! I use Tria every other week and it has taken the dark monstrous hair on my pale skin to almost nothing at all. If you are looking for something that works, this is it. The cost isn't that bad, especially with the results.

Comments about Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X:

I ordered this laser hair remover about 2 months ago. The instructions say to use it every other week, however, in the beginning I used it once a week because the level of strength I was using was about 1-2 out of 5 in many areas.
I am currently working on my lower legs (knees and below), underarms, under belly button to top of bikini line and leg bikini areas. I have definitely seen an improvement. Some sections on my legs are completely done already...can't even see the pores anymore. I'm still working on the bottom half of my shin where the hair is more pokey and dark. I usually use a 2 in this particular area.
When I started my underarms, I didn't shave the whole week so I could see if it was working (hey, it was winter time!). At first, it was really gross by day 7 again but now it's drastically thinning out and disappearing. This area might be taking a bit longer for me because I'm only using levels 1-2.
When I was treating the knee and surrounding area, I used a 5 and couldn't even feel it most of the time. Bikini line is usually a 3 and below the belly button is a 3. However, the top part of the bikini line is a 1-2!
The "pain" you feel is a quick plucking sensation accompanied by a little heat. And as the instructions say, the higher the intensity level of the laser, the higher the "pain". Some people might be able to handle a 5 all over though...you never know. I do agree that higher levels have faster results. For me, my skin does not get red, itchy or anything when I use it. As soon as I shave and get out of the shower, I use the Tria. I'd say my overall treatment time is maybe 15-20 minutes. Also, the lighter your skin and the darker the hair, the better for the laser.
The devise is almost like the size of a hotel hair dryer. It's super easy to use and the rechargeable battery has lasted very well for me. I think I've only charged it once besides when I took it out of the box.
Overall, for the price, convenience of doing it at home (where I'd have to drive at least an hour for treatments) and the results, I think this is a great purchase. I recommend it to my friends all the time! Hopefully in the next month or so I'll be done!

Comments about Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X:

I can't say enough about how awesome the Tria is, and I've had many professional hair removal sessions. While the professional sessions drastically reduced the hair, I still have stragglers that I've been wanting to get rid of, especially around my lip & underarms. I've gotten great results in just 2 sessions. Wish I found this product before I paid hundreds & hundreds of dollars to get it done by an aesthetician. As for the pain level - eh, I guess I have a high tolerance because it doesn't really bother me. Amazing, amazing product. Deserves more than 5 stars!!

This is hands down one of the best products I have ever purchased, if not THE best. For years I had to pluck hairs from my chin and lower cheeks. I used Tria a year ago as instructed and they are gone baby, gone. I now do quarterly treatments (once a week for four consecutive weeks) as maintenance. Yes, it costs a lot but it works, it really works!

I have owned this for a week and will update my post as I continue.
I just wonder if anybody else broke out in hives all over after use?
I have never broken out with an allergic reaction before but after my first use I began to see hives all over even where I didn't use the laser. In all fairness sometimes hives just show up with no cause according to my doctor but these hives didn't respond to normal treatment with just Benadryl. I had to take steroids. :(
I am going to try to finish my other leg in a few days to see if it happens again. I hope I can update it doesn't happen again.
Overall my 1st treatment went smoothly I used on 1 leg,, my arms, and above my lip. planned to do the other leg the next day because I ran out of time. The charge held at level 1 just fine. The "zap" here and there surprised me but wasn't horrible. I hope to post that it works. I noticed no results after 1st use of course but maybe after I get to use more. The worse part is how long it takes, cost, and maybe the surprise from the "zap". I'm sure I'll get use to it though. Will update soon.

Comments about Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X:

Love it! As long as you use it as instructed and have the skin/hair color combinations listed as "safe" it will work beautifully.

Saw results within the first week - about 25% of hair follicles were deactivated with my first treatment. Few weeks in it's at 50%. Also noticed an added benefit; a few age spots / sun spots in a treatment area faded & disappeared.. The laser targets melanin pigment of a certain shade whether it's hair or sunspot - BONUS! :)
Worth every penny knowing I will never have to wax again.

                      A few pointers:

                      - Tria makes a "fan noise" as it cools while you use it (especially in a warm room), and also spontaneously makes that noise while it's docked & charging (but there's a 'silent mode' to stop this, which slows the recharge time. Info about this is in Tria manual).

                      - Per one full charge, I was able to treat one lower leg or one upper leg at a time, then had to wait an hour for Tria to recharge. That's 2 hours total to do both legs (plus down time to recharge between treatments).. Basically I've had to schedule a "spa day" at home twice a month to treat all areas twice per month, as instructed. Still, time well spent compared to shaving (daily 10 min shaving adds up to 5 hours total per month). Plus with Tria there's an end in sight.. It takes less and less time as hair gradually stops growing back & disappears completely.

                      - Underarms take about 5-10 minutes total for both, super easy.

                      - Start by testing each area you plan to treat and find the setting that feels most comfortable for that area (level depends on hair shade and thickness).

                      - Going over the level you're comfortable with can give you a bit of a zing & sizzle; this is a professional grade laser and you'll feel it, so set the power level to what's comfortable - it will still work.

                      - If you ice the area briefly before treating, you may get comfortable enough to go up a power level.

                      - Enjoy your treatment and combine it with your fav music, a face mask, a cup of tea / latte or whatever else makes you happy to build a positive association with the laser sessions. It helped me look forward to my "spa day" and stay on schedule with the treatments.

                      Hope this helps. :)

this is the best facial hair removal system! If you want to remove large areas on your legs maybe not. But i am not sure. I got it for my face and have used it for a year. It removed my dark stubble on my chin. I am 52 and with the changes came a lovely gift of facial hair uggg!!!! Thank you tria! I have to occasionally do up keep but it sure beats the options. I have been happy and i have no burn or excessive pain i don't know how people have that problem. I do however have fair skin with dark hair.

The Tria Hair Removal Laser is FDA-cleared for ages 18 and up. The use of the Tria 4X on or by children has not been studied therefore could result in serious injury.

In regards to skintone suitabilty, It depends. Please refer to the shade chart on the box or online? The device will not turn on if the shade is too dark. Unfortunately the laser is not able "see" the hair follicle if they are too similar to the tone. In addition, the Tria 4X had been FDA-cleared for upper lip but not intended for sideburns.

Yes, the Tria Hair Removal Laser is designed and FDA-cleared for the use on upper lip area. The laser targets the hair pigment in the follicle to disable. Although you are currently bleaching the area, it will disable the follicles if the natural hair color is light brown-black. The 4X requires to prep the area first by shaving or use of diplitory prior to treatment so any bleached hair will be removed.

The Tria Precision Hair Removal Laser is intended for smaller more sensitive areas such as the upper lip. The laser targets a diameter of multiple follicles per treatment. Only 25 pulses per treatment are needed for upper lip which takes less that two minutes to treat. Treatment schedule is once every two weeks for three months.

I've read that hair grows in "lighter" with continued usage of the device. Does this refer to quantity/ thickness of hair or to color/ pigmentation as well? If it is the latter, does it stop working?

The benefits refer to the hair regrowth reduction. With continued treatments the hair regrowth becomes thinner and finer. It does not affect the pigmentation of the hair color.

Tria recommends treating once every two weeks. There are three stages to hair growth: Active, transition and resting. The hair follicle moves within the three phases within 28 day cycle. This is why we recommend bi-weekly treatments. Tria laser disables the hair follicle in the active phase. Treating more often will use up the battery sooner.

The laser is attracted to the pigment in the hair, so the longer the hair, the more pigment that will absorb the laser, which will result in a stronger sensation. You do not have to shave prior to using the laser to achieve results. However, to minimize the sensation felt while treating, we recommend people shave first. If people are concerned about shaving their face, we recommend using small scissors and trimming the hair as short as possible.

Do not use the Hair Removal Laser 4X on genitals. These areas may have more sensitive skin, a darker skin tone and/or a greater hair density. Using the Hair Removal Laser 4X in these areas may cause serious skin injury.

You can use other gels as long as it is a thin layer. For the best and highest results, treat on higher levels with no barrier but will still work well. Working up to the higher levels is suggested. I treated my armpit area on level 1 with SmoothStart gel. I use once every week and am 3 weeks in. I am up to level 3 with no gel and will continue to work up levels through the 12 weeks of treatment.

You may use the Hair Removal Laser 4X on your bikini line, which is the pubic hair visible beyond the boundaries of a swimsuit.

Possibly but you may want to try to the hair laser safety sensor. If it unlocks on you, it is safe and effective to use. If you hear a buzzer or does not unlock, it is not suitable for your hair/skin tone. Ulta has a great return policy. Just return within their policy timeframe with the receipt if it does not work.

Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X is safe for fair to light brown skin tones. People with dark skin tones have a higher risk of skin injury with the Tria Laser 4X because of higher levels of melanin in the skin. Melanin is the pigment that gives skin its beautiful brown coloring.

You can compare your skin tone to the color chart on the box. There is also a safety feature on the device that will disable it if your skin tone is not the correct shade for treatment.

You can use the HRL 4x. In rare cases, some user may see an increase in the number of hairs in the treated area in which you should consult your doctor.

Yes, you can but there is no need to since our hair grows in phases. To be most effective, the HRL 4x will treat each hair follicle during its active growth period. Multiple treatments are necessary, For best results, treat every 2 weeks for 3 months or until your satisfied with amount of hair reduction. (even weekly would be ok)
