Comments about Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Nail Treatment Duet:
I do not understand the poor reviews. After I purchased I read them and was worried. I have used it 3 separate times now and it is longer lasting that my Essie top coat. I am not easy on my nails either. My tips after 4 days finally showed some wear after I scrubbed my kitchen sink with comet and a sponge. I have never had the "shellac" style nails that the girls from work get, but continuously paint my nails and this is a great purchase. NOTE: I do have shorter nails and even though it is not that easy coat the tips of your nails with the polish and the top coat.

Comments about Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Nail Treatment Duet:
I have been using this product since it was released few months ago. A local store (not Ulta) had representatives from Deborah Lippmann doing a special event to debut the product, and after talking to them, I decided to give it a try, even though I winced at the price while I was buying it. But, I am so glad I did!
As the other reviewers said, it doesn't give you that really thick-looking finish that gel manicures give; it's more like regular polish. But that's fine with me because I just wanted something that would last. I find that when I use Gel Lab, my manicures last 7-10 days without chipping at all. But then, at the end of that time, it starts to chip and that's when it's time to do a new manicure. So, it doesn't last two weeks or more like regular gel, but it lasts a lot longer than a regular manicure, which, for me, usually start to chip after three days or so. This product saves me time by allowing me to only do my nails once a week or ten days, instead of twice a week like I did before.
I think I got 12-15 manicures out of my last set before it started to get kind of thick and hard to use.
Some tips for using: make sure your nails are completely dry and don't have any lotion or oil on them. I clean mine with pure acetone polish remover (not the Deborah Lippmann remover, "The Stripper", which seems to have oil in it) immediately before putting on the base coat. Then, I put a really thin coat on, let it dry for two minutes, then two or three very thin coats of color (all brands I have tried have worked well, but I think thinner polish works best, like Essie), let them dry for 5-10 minutes, then I put on the top coat and let it dry for another 5-10 minutes. I often put the Seche Vite fast dry top coat over the Deborah Lippmann top coat after 5 minutes or so to ensure it dries.
I think this product protects my nails because I have been able to grow them rather quickly. They seem a lot stronger with this polish on, and they make a wonderful, plastic-y clicking noise when I rub them together.
Again, this product is great, and you should give it a chance. Even though it's expensive, the 15 or so manicures you will get out of one set would be much more expensive to do at a salon. To those of you who have had trouble with it, give it another chance. Once you get the hang of it, it will change your life. Er, well, your manicure life.

Comments about Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Nail Treatment Duet:
I tried this when I first received an e-mail directly from Deborah Lippmann, I didn't work at all. It seemed like it would and I even spoke with the nail tech during Fashion week and followed her suggestions to use it thinly but that didn't work either although I had not applied it thick at all. It's a great idea but my nails chipped sooner than they would have with my regular manicure routine.

Comments about Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Nail Treatment Duet:
I'm trying to stop biting my nails and normal gel manicures last fairly well so I wanted a cheaper and healthier way to do them at home. I kept them out of my mouth and did normal daily routines while using this product. They chip and peel crazy easy. I will be returning this product. I really had high hopes despite other bad reviews. Don't bother with this product.

Comments about Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Nail Treatment Duet:
I was very excited when I discovered this product. I thought "Yes! A do it yourself gel like manicure that dries quickly and is easily removed." Unfortunately this product is quite disappointing. I used this product at least 7 times and it has not ever lasted more than one day. In fact, I just applied it this morning and I only have 2 out of 10 nails that are not chipped.

Comments about Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Nail Treatment Duet:
I have used the nail treatment for approximately two weeks. Although it is not chip resistant, it certainly does last longer than any other base and top coats I have tried. I purchased a gel system but returned because the gels are too hard to remove, damage your nails and too costly! I have a lot of nail polish and with this treatment, I can use my own colors.

Comments about Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Nail Treatment Duet:
The first time I used the product it lasted a week without a touch up using a light color polish. The second time I tried a dark color and it lasted a few days and I noticed some wear on the edges so before bed I would just run the color on the edges and put on the top coat again and it went over a week looking good. I am a busy mom and I cook and clean constantly so my nails take a lot of abuse. To me putting cuticle oil on my nails nightly, or touching up the edges and putting another top coat on before bed is as easy as it gets. I will buy this again.

Bottom line: my nails chipped by the second day. Very sad. 45 would have been a bargain if it worked, unfortunately it didn't.

Comments about Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Nail Treatment Duet:
I have used this a total of 4 different times now. Three of those times have been with Deborah Lippman colors. All 4 times my nails have started chipping thie next day already. The idea behind this is great, but this works no better (probably not even as well as) regular top coat. If I didn't throw away the box it came in I would have returned the set.

Comments about Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Nail Treatment Duet:
The product goes on easily and does dry quickly, but I found it doesn,t last as long as applying two coats of topcoat, It sounded like a great idea but the results were disappointing.
