I recently switched from Laura Geller Medium foundation to Fair foundation. Though I consider both good products, I must caution against the powdery texture of the Fakr foundation. You will waste it if you aren't careful.

Got this product as part of a set and was so excited to try it. The medium was like bronzer and totally darkened my face and made me look muddy. It did the opposite of balance and brighten. I contacted customer service and they said there could be regularities because of the baking process and told me to buy another one of their foundations. Buyer beware!!!

Your best bet would be to choose the "fair". This product is extremely forgiving because of it's multi-pigmented swirls of color. So even if it's not quite the perfect match, it adapts to your skin tone and you'll never have that line of demarkation under your jawline. It's an amazing foundation and I think you'll be quite happy making the switch. Enjoy!

Would it work for me to use the fair and medium together? The medium is a bit too dark, but I really like the cool undertones. The light looks like it would be the right shade but it has a little too much yellow for me.

                      A:

You nailed it- the medium does have some cooler undertones and the fair is more warm. Each shade is extremely forgiving, so if you simply choose one, it should work just fine. Perhaps just go with the fair and see what you think. I am a more neutral-medium but I personally like use the fair. It never makes me too light and it covers all the same. If you prefer to mix shades (which is totally fine), I would use the medium first and then the fair to brighten and add warmth. This product is so lightweight that it'll never look cakey, no matter how many layers you use. Good luck!

We do not offer this product with SPF. I always like to pair my balance-n-brighten with an under makeup primer (we call ours Spackle), and we currently make a Spackle that has SPF 30! Use the Spackle first for your SPF protection and for incredible anti-aging benefits, and then apply the Balance. The Spackle will also hold your makeup on and keep it looking fresh all day long. Enjoy!

I am half white and half Asian. The light shade fits my skin in terms of lightness, but is a touch too yellow. Medium seems more neutral and is a closer fit to my undertones, but is a touch too dark. Will any of the Spackle primers correct the off coloring or do you have any suggestions for a closer color match? Thanks!

Hello! Our Spackle Neutralizer brings your skin tone back to where it is supposed to be. It'll take yellow out of sallow skin, it'll take redness down, and it'll slightly start to color correct. I would recommend trying this Spackle and sticking with the Balance-n-Brighten in fair. It sounds like the medium is too dark, so by neutralizing the skin tone with this Spackle, the fair should work even better! You can also offset any of the yellow by adding some bronze-n-brighten in fair to your cheeks. This has a very pink/cool undertone and will add a gorgeous touch of color to your face.

This product is baked- so it absolutely will not be drying! Baked means, it starts it's life as a cream and is baked on terra cotta tiles for 24 hours and hardens to form a silky, smooth powder. This product (and all of our other baked powders) glide on the skin so smoothly and evenly, it's almost like you're applying a cream! They're highly pigmented but have this incredible lightweight look and feel. Also, the terra cotta tile helps the product retain moisture- so again, it will not be drying. One of my favorite products! Enjoy!

Yes! This is a color correcting foundation and also completely covers redness and any dark spots. It is buildable, so you may find that you need to apply multiple layers to reach the coverage you desire. I would also recommend using a brush that has sense brissels, this way it'll pick up more pigments and give more coverage. This is one of my favorite products, I know you're going to love it!

Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation is handmade in Italy and is created by baking liquid pigments for 24 hours; the effect is an almost creamy texture once applied to your skin. It is very blendable and buildable, and layering looks very natural. Unlike some powder foundations, it never looks chalky!

I would recommend trying the Balance and Brighten in Fair. This has yellow undertones and should compliment your undertones as well. It is pretty light and is forgiving because it's infused with up to 7 different shades in each compact. So even if he color isn't perfect, you won't have a line under your jaw and it'll blend perfectly in with the rest of your coloring. Enjoy!

This foundation does a very good job at lasting. However, no matter what makeup you use, the natural oils in our skin want to suck everything through so you may find that you'll need to do a touch up half way through the day. I highly suggest trying our Spackle Under Makeup Primer! This creates a barrier between your skin and whatever makeup you use on top, so the makeup sits on the primer and does not sink into the skin. It will hold any makeup on and keep it looking fresh all day long! Try the Spackle Mattefying- our newest primer designed for oily skin :)

Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation is matte; however, because of its color-correcting swirls of pigment, it works wonderfully to brighten and even your complexion and add a youthful glow.

If you consider yourself a level one on the skin tone spectrum (porcelain, light, or fair) then I would definitely recommend trying the porcelain. If you're more of a level two (medium to tan), then try the medium. Because these products are so forgiving, if you're a true fair, you will be able to go a shade lighter or a shade darker without having that line of demarkation under the jaw. I do think that if the fair is making you too red, trying another shade will certainly help! You can also try our Spackle Neutralizer before you apply the Balance-n-Brighten. This will start to eliminate any redness that may already be in the skin, and it will hold your makeup on and keep it looking fresh all day long! Enjoy!

Hello! The foundation in this collection does contain Jojoba Seed Oil, however this type of oil is extremely lightweight and non-greasy. It is often used to treat acne and moisturize the skin. It soothes, conditions, moisturizes, softens, and does not clog pores. You will absolutely love this collection!

                      A:

Balance-n-Brighten is meant to color correct and provide all over coverage, and Bronze-n-Brighten is not. Use Balance-n-Brighten if you want an all over even skin tone, and to cut away any redness or skin discolorations. If this is your goal, use the color that is most like your natural skin tone. Use Bronze-n-Brighten if you want an all over warm, natural, bronze glow. This can be used all over the face, or we recommend using it on the high points of the face to contour, such as cheek bones, forehead, and chin.

This product does not contain sparkles and is not shiny. Its finish is matte; however, because of its color-correcting swirls of pigment, it works wonderfully to brighten and even your complexion and add a youthful glow.

Use all over face in place of foundation or with your favorite base for an even and healthy glow. Mix with Bronze-N-Brighten to achieve a flawlessly bronzed complexion.

We recommend applying using a large, dense brush like Laura Geller Beauty Retractable Kabuki Brush (Item #: 2218975):
                      http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod2240053

Swirl the brush onto the baked powder, tap off excess, and buff onto the face in circular motions until your desired coverage is achieved.

We recommend using a big, fluffy brush like Laura Geller Beauty Retractable Baked Powder Brush (Item #: 2218974), which picks up and deposits just the right amount of product to prevent "cakey-ness". If Medium appears muddy, the shade may be too dark for your complexion. We'd recommend trying one shade lighter - Fair (Item #:2218587).
