Comments about Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation:

This is my second time to purchase this foundation. The first time I bought it, I picked the porcelain color. At the time it was too light for my skin, but I knew it was a wonderful product, so I tried it again and got it in Fair. It is perfect! I wear this directly over my concealer and bb cream. It really does make my skin look beautiful. I will be buying this again! :)

The inclusion of multiple pigments in the product help it to blend seamlessly. This is the only foundation I have used for several years now. The coverage works for light evening of my skin tone to more full coverage.

I've gone through two of these, because I love this product so much! You can build up your coverage to your liking, which is a huge plus for me. I'm not a big fan of liquid foundation, so this is a great alternative. It lasts all day and doesn't require touch ups. I use the color Fair and have semi redness skin tone, but this product helps provide a lightweight coverage to conceal it.

                    • Q:

I have extremely fair skin with no yellow undertones. Many foundations look too warm or yellowish on me. How might the porcelain work for me? Also, my age is 47 and my skin can look dry with powder foundation, so I am wondering if it will work for mature skin. Thanks.

                        A:

The porcelain has definitely more of a cooler undertone, with more pinks and beiges. It is perfect for skintones in the range of Nicole Kidman. Since you mentioned you're extremely fair, the porcelain sounds like it'll be great for you. Our balance-n-brighten has more yellow swirled around, so I am afraid it might be a bit too warm for you. Try the porcelain! And don't worry about your age or skin type... because this is a baked powder (it starts it's life as a cream), its a powder that looks extremely weightless and natural and it won't dry out the skin or settle into lines! You will love it. Enjoy!

                    • Q:

I'm using the medium shade but could also use the fair. I would prefer a brighter look for my under eye area. Could I use the porcelain shade for that or would that be to much of a contrast?

                        A:

I would recommend switching from the medium to the fair. Because this product has multi-pigmented swirls of color, it will blend in seamlessly with the rest of your skin tone and you'll never have that line of demarkation under your jawline. I am afraid the porcelain will be much to light for you... the fair should be perfect. I am more of a medium and I wear the fair because I love the brightening effect it delivers. Enjoy!

                    • Q:

Because the product is a swirl of colors and not fully mixed, is there a concern that as I continue to use the product, it will reveal just just the white or a paler color?
Some have said the color changed as they got deeper into the product. Thank you in advance.

                        A:

This is a completely logical concern, however I can tell you from 5 years experience using this product, the color will stay the same overall shade until the very end. Make sure that you swirl your brush throughout the entire compact so that the brissles look like the are picking up each shade. It also helps to use a somewhat lager powder brush, like a kabuki brush. Enjoy!

Anything that is large, dense, and fluffy will give you the most coverage and the most airbrushed look. The most important thing to look for is that the brissles should be sense enough to grab the pigmentation for optimal blurring and coverage. IT Cosmetics has some great options!

This is a foundation that has medium-buildable coverage. It will not completely cover brown spots as well as concealer would, but it does a great job at color-correcting the skin tone and evening everything out! It will cover redness and simply make the complexion look bright, even, and pretty covered. I would definitely recommend this as your every day foundation, and if you need a little more coverage on certain areas, you can always pop a little concealer on. Enjoy!

My skin is oily and prone to acne. It breaksout really fast if I use anything heavy on my face and neck. Do you think this product will cause any damage to my skin or will I be able to use it without any fear.

                        A:

You should be able to use this product without any fear! We are a very skincare driven brand, so this product contains jojoba oil (hydrating and skin loving), and botanicals that have free radical and antioxidant protection. It's paraben free and mineral oil free, and extremely light weight so I definitely think this product will be perfect for you. I recommend using it with a Spackle Primer... A primer will also protect your skin and hold the makeup on longer. Spackle Soothjng is a great choice for sensitive skin.
