Thought it might be a nice filler for light makeup days instead of Lancome but it definitely doesn't cover or last. I'm 46 and it was not good for aging skin. I did return it and got another bottle of Lancome.

Comments about Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation:

I started with medium in a sample size and loved the feel of it and that it looked natural, but the coverage was a little light. I actually could hardly tell the difference from where I applied it to where I hadn't applied yet and even with concealer, anytime I had a blemish it was still visible. So I decided to order a full size in the next darker shade-tan-to get better coverage, and it was too dark for my winter skin. Since I typically have to change foundations between summer and winter, I was not upset. I just stuck it in the drawer for now. So I went back to the medium and just build layers where I need more coverage and it is fine.

              A:

Absolutely! When I want a little more coverage, I'll use my Spackle Primer, a liquid foundation, and then the Balance-n-Brighten. It looks gorgeous combined with any liquid. On days where I don't want as much coverage, I'll simply use the Balance directly over Spackle with no liquid. It'll give medium/buildable coverage in both cases. Enjoy!

Anything that is larger than a blush brush, with medium/dense fluffy brissles. The denser the brush, the more coverage you'll get.

i have a sample of this product in medium, but i feel like my skin tone's too light for this. could this work as a bronzer?
Asked on 1/23/2016 by rae from US

            1 answer

            • Brand Expert

              A:

This could absolutely be used as a bronzer. I recommend using a light and fluffy brush and apply to the skin for an overall deeper look. If you want it to do it's true job- which is to color correct and even the skin tone, I would recommend trying it out in your color, which would be fair. It's an incredible product that is extremely easy to use once you obtain the right color. Enjoy!

What kind of brush would be best for this product?

            1 answer

            • Brand Expert

              A:

I recommend using something that is large and fluffy. I like the brush to be somewhat dense- this means that the bristles will pick up a good about of pigments and you'll receive more coverage. If you're not looking for as much coverage, you can use a brush that is even fluffier and less dense. Enjoy!

          • Q:

I have large pores on my nose . Does this product minimize them. Also does it settle into lines and wrinkles after it is on for a few hours?
Asked on 1/20/2016 by Dee from Harahan, la

            1 answer

            • Brand Expert

              A:

This product does an amazing job at actually filling in pores and making the skin look airbrushed! Make sure you use a brush that is large and fluffy- something dense enough to pick up a lot of pigments (this will give you more coverage). Because this is a baked product (it starts its life as a cream and is baked on a terracotta time for 24 hours, then hardens into a powder form), it does not settle into lines or wrinkles! Because in reality it applies like a cream, it will glide over any skin imperfection and will never look chalky, cakey, or powdery. Enjoy!

          • Q:

Can this be used as an under eye setting powder?
Asked on 12/22/2015 by Beauty Junkie

            1 answer

            • Brand Expert

              A:

Absolutely! Use an eyeshadow brush (make sure it's clean!) or a small powder brush to ensure the brush is dense enough. The denser the brush, the more pigments it will pick up, which gives you more coverage. You can use be Balance all over your face over liquid foundation as a setting powder and then concentrate directly under your eyes. Enjoy!

          • Q:

I noticed several reviews stating it's a "medium coverage" foundation. Is there another Laura Geller foundation (for oily skin) that has more of a "full coverage" effect? I use her Matte Maker which has definitely kept the "oily- glow" off all day, when used w/ my current foundation (Hello Flawless- by Benefit"). Thank you!
Asked on 12/19/2015 by Almost 50 :( from Allen, TX

            • Brand Expert

              A:

So glad you love the matte maker! That product can be combined with anything! For more coverage, I suggest using a liquid foundation under your balance. That is what I recommend to all my clients (and what I do myself!). Try using our BB cream first, which is a light weight beauty balm with very good coverage. when you finish with the balance-n-brighten, it'll give you a flawless, airbrushed looking complexion. If you want even more overage, you can choose our Baked Liquid Radiance Foundation with the balance on top. This is a liquid foundation with more coverage than a BB cream, yet it still feels pretty weightless on the skin. Enjoy!

I am prone to roseacea, any advice on whether this product would suit my skin? Does it contain bismuth oxychoride?

            1 answer

            • Brand Expert

              A:

This product does not contain bismuth oxychoride. Because the Balance-n-Brighten contains multi-pigmented swirls of color, it does a fabulous job at color correcting and covering redness. I think you'll be really impressed with the weightless coverage from this baked powder!

If I seem to be in between fair and medium, which color should I choose? I am about a w2 (warm 2) in the lorea'l true match foundation.

            1 answer

            • Brand Expert

              A:

Because this product is made up of multi-pigmented swirls of color, if you fall right in between, you will be fine with whatever shade you choose. Both shades are extremely forgiving and blend seamlessly in with the rest of your complexion. If you have a warmer undertone (more yellow in skin) then choose the fair. If you're cooler (more pink in the skin) choose the medium. Enjoy!
