I have had no trouble using this product. But then I have always done my own acrylic nails. No, I'm not an expert. I taught myself, because I didn't want to pay the outragous prices for the salon kind. I decided I wanted something easier than acrylic, so I tried the gel nail kit. My natural nails are paper thin. I have always had a hard time growing them out because they tear so easily. With the nail gel kit I can keep my manicure till it grows out. Sometimes as long as 3 weeks. It takes just a fraction of the time to do my nails now than when I did the acrylics. I haven't used any colors except the white. I always wear a French manicure.
If you are having trouble doing it yourself, maybe it's just a matter of pactice. :o)

On my first attempt, I applied the polish too thick and it peeled off in a day or two. The next time, I skipped the alcohol prep before applying the polish and it peeled off again. It does take practice to apply it correctly. Now that I've learned the tricks through trail and error, my manicure really does last two weeks. Love it!!!!!

at fist I was very excited to have a product that I can use at home and have the save money by not going to manicure. It was easy to apply , the lamp worked ok and it dry out as it said in 30second. but the next day all my polish was gone . it was like using 99 cent polish. it peel off completely. I did not have to use acetone to remove it

I do a lot of cooking, cleaning and gardening and had pretty much resigned myself to not wearing nail polish at all, it always chipped so fast. Have neither the time nor desire to go to a nail salon on a regular basis either. I figured this probably wouldn't work and might be a big waste of money but I was wrong! Dries instantly to a hard shiny finish that cannot be messed up by being touched, bumped or scraped. Have gone over a week without a chip. Quick and easy (you do 4 coats so that is a little time consuming but the fact that it is instantly dry when you are done is a huge timesaver!).Love the Shell We Dance color, it's a pretty french manicure type shade of pink. Looking forward to trying other colors.

didn't last long - you have to be very careful around the cuticles - make sure to clean them off before it dries - and when tried it for a second time - it only lasts maybe 2 days - it peels off

The polish is hard to take off by yourself. It's like you need an extra set of hands to help with the foil, etc. I love the ease of use of the polish and the light. It looks AMAZING when done! And for the price of this product you pay for two shellac manicures.

I ended up with a clumpy brush and some thick spots but i think i know what caused it. I made the mistake of trying to rush the process by painting fingers while thumb was under the lamp and vice versa. The wet gel may have been hardening slightly because the lamp wasn't too far away. When it says to put on a thin layer, do it! This will be a thick manicure, almost like acrylics. So even though it doesn't chip, a weeks worth of re growth is about all I can handle.
I had some damage to the surface of my nails after removal. It's nothing awful, but just know that you're applying way more than regular old paint.
Speaking of regular old paint, I'm sure this would work with colors I have using the gel base and top coats. Of course, I won't get the instant dry time that way but I bet it would still be faster.
One last thing, this color is SO dull. I'm fair skinned and it looked almost sickly. I love nudes, but not this one. I thought I was buying the wine color, but ended up with the blush.
