Comments about Sally Hansen Salon Insta-Gel Strips Starter Kit:
I just purchased this product yesterday and did my nails almost right away. They look great once I was done. Today before I even left the house I could see that it was going to start peeling. I am very disappointed. I use many of Sally Hansen products and was hoping this would work considering the cost of the product. By the end of the day almost all of my nails have peeled and they look terrible. Nail polish lasts longer. Very disappointed.

Comments about Sally Hansen Salon Insta-Gel Strips Starter Kit:
Horrible! Difficult to apply and did not last at all. Looked good for about one night and then started to lift & peel off one by one. The entire strip would just come right off! Total waste of money!!

Comments about Sally Hansen Salon Insta-Gel Strips Starter Kit:
Nail polish never lasts on my nails. I have even had gel polish applied at salons before and it only lasts about a week. These strips are much less expensive than getting a salon gel manicure, they are not difficult to apply once you get used to them, and they lasted a full week on my nails which was pretty impressive!

Comments about Sally Hansen Salon Insta-Gel Strips Starter Kit:
My daughter wanted this product, so I brought it. Not realy a fan of nail strips and I was right, the strips don't fit properly. I like the little kit and that she could do one nail at a time but the strips didn't lay right and didn't fit. And then I couldn't take the kit back. So lesson learned.

Comments about Sally Hansen Salon Insta-Gel Strips Starter Kit:
I really, really wanted to like this. If you can get the application absolutely perfect I have no doubt that you can have a manicure that lasts a week. However, most of us are not ambidextrous, so chances are one hand isn't going to be perfect. My nails looked great immediately following the application, but it didn't last long. I DID actually receive many compliments on my nails the first 24 hours following application...but the compliments abruptly stopped by day 2. I am right handed, so my left hand looked fantastic. My right hand looked a hot mess, though. In less than 24 hours I had one nail chip, I'm thinking because I didn't get a smooth edge. Then I had a nail break, also my fault, but all the edges started lifting pretty quickly. By day 4 I had 2 nails completely chipped off, and the other 3 looked pretty ridiculous (all on my right hand). My left hand had one very small chip, which is pretty good considering my nails get dinged up at work. I followed the directions very carefully, but I firmly believe my my right hand didn't last long because it was harder for me to get a smooth, perfect strip application. If this were the regular polish strips I most likely would have had some wear marks that I could've slowed down with a top coat. The gel top coat makes a very thick layer, so when it starts lifting the edges can catch on stuff (kinda like an acrylic can).
I tried this kit in the Shell color. This color is VERY sheer and you could see the tips of my nails through the strip. It looked nice initially, almost like a french manicure. My nails got dirty at work, though, so it just didn't look as nice after 2 days. I definitely recommend this color if you prefer a natural or neutral nail, but you may want to try something else if you do not want your natural nail to show through.
I think the lamp works very well to cure the nails, and the accessories in the kit are quite useful and add to the value of the kit since you do not need other components. I do see myself using the lamp for future nail products, and I would totally buy the gel strips if I had a special occasion.
I'm glad I tried it, and I do not feel it was a total loss since I can still use the led lamp for future manicures. If you are curious about the kit, I recommend giving it a try if you can get a coupon or use your Ulta reward points. I also think this would be great if you have a friend that you could do manicures with so that you can help each other with the application. I would definitely avoid this if you are a little clumsy or easily frustrated/impatient.

This is supposed to last 2 weeks. It started peeling the day after application. For something that costs upwards of $20, I expected something much better - at least a week!

Comments about Sally Hansen Salon Insta-Gel Strips Starter Kit:
First problem is that to do this properly, you have to keep the edge of the strip away from your cuticle. The strip has to he touching only nail. Well, if you have a strip that doesn't quite fit, you can't "trim" the strips without making it look ripped and tacky. But even if you manage that, if the GEL touches your cuticle at all, the thing is still going to peel up. I returned this product. Gave it 3 chances. Piece of junk.

Comments about Sally Hansen Salon Insta-Gel Strips Starter Kit:
For someone that really isn't that great at doing nails but wants something that looks (almost) professional, this works pretty well. The strips are such a good idea if you're like me and can't apply liquid polish to save your life. The strips are pretty easy to pull off. The LED Mini lamp is so cute! It works really well. Only thing I wish was that the price of the strips were cheaper, although you get a decent amount of strips in the packaging...but $15 is a wee bit steep. =\ Otherwise a pretty decent buy.

Comments about Sally Hansen Salon Insta-Gel Strips Starter Kit:
I have been doing my own nails for over 20 years. Recently I started getting gel manis done at my salon and really enjoy the look and duration of the product, but not the cost. I decided to give the insta-gel strips a try. First, it was very difficult to apply the strips. They would sometimes tear. Other times they would start to lift of the nail on the sides after only being on for a few minutes. When they were finally complete, I noticed that even after curing they were peeling off my nails on the sides. I had to remove them after spending over an hour applying them. The total time spent appyling them and removing them was 2.5 hrs. And I had nothing to show for it.
