Comments about Hot Tools Crimson Fade Turbo Ionic Salon Dryer:

For budgeted buyers I think this product does a great job, I have so much hair I wash the night before (therefore not styling it). Great working product, I recommend it!

Comments about Hot Tools Crimson Fade Turbo Ionic Salon Dryer:

I have semi coarse, curly hair and therefore do not blow dry my hair often, especially in the summer. I purchased this product less than 2 years ago.
After using a few months, the narrow concentrator would fall off about 5 times during my 15-20 minute blow dry effort. This morning, while blow drying my hair, all of a sudden the power of the blow dryer decreased. I turned it off, unplugged, re-plugged, reset button, and although the dryer turned on, the power was very low and then an odor emanated which made me just shut it off. Thank goodness my daughter lives a few minutes from me and I was able to use her hair dryer. I doubt if I will purchase a hot tools product again. I also have the flat iron and am not that thrilled with it.

Comments about Hot Tools Crimson Fade Turbo Ionic Salon Dryer:

I bought this blow-dryer in February 2013. In March of 2014 it started to "fade" in power after only 12-13 months of use. Ridiculously low power. I called Hot Tools and they replaced it, even though it was technically out of warranty. I began using the new blow-dryer in April 2014. It had begun it's decline in power in May 2015. I find that if I put it on "high" first the motor seems to get charged, then I can use the low setting. Basically, this blow-dryer lasts 13 months, eking out a few more with techniques like using "high" before "low" settings. I will stick this one out and see how long it will go like this, but will purchase a different brand when it finally quits. I will say Customer Service was great about sending out a new one at no charge but I will not take advantage of the company a second time. I wish the first one would have been a fluke, but it remains the "13 month dryer." It is quieter than most blow-dryers I've used in the past, which I love.

Comments about Hot Tools Crimson Fade Turbo Ionic Salon Dryer:

I'm a daily user, everymorning after towel drying my hair to dry and style. Two days into using this dryer my friends have asked what I changed in my routine since it was that noticeable of a difference. My hair is sleeker and the shine is unreal. The dryer runs much quieter that others I've used, it heats quickly and the attachments work great.
Plus the coloring of the dryer is really cute without having to be just a flat color or pink.

Handle so thin, current so strong I may have been electricuted. The light weight might have been nice but it wasnt. Dries out the hair quicker than it dries the hair. Not a good purchase.

Worked great for a while, but after about a year the high/low setting got stuck on high and now it runs very loud, vibrates, and smells. I'm disappointed the product didn't last longer.

I have short hair so my hair stylist said I need 'Heat, sista, heat!' when choosing a blow dryer. I really do like this one. My only complaint is the extra long cord always gets tangled despite how carefully I put it away. Maybe better for a salon usage?

No, this dryer is not dual voltage. It operates at standard US voltage 110V.

                    is this drier "ceramic"

                    • Staff Expert

                      A:

There is no ceramic in the dryer. However, ceramic only has an effect on the hair when it comes in contact with the hair. Since dryers produce air that touches the hair, a dryer would not be more productive with ceramic inside.

what is the difference between the crimson fade and the harlequin models?
Asked on 8/6/2014 by sheryl from tampa,fl

                    1 answer

                    • Staff Expert

                      A:

The real difference is that the Diamond Harlequin Dryer has two additional features. One to dial up or down the amount of ions that are generated by the dryer (more is better for long, thick hair, less is better for short, fine hair). Also, the Diamond Harlequin Dryer has a turbo boost feature that adds additional air velocity when pushed. Other than those two points of difference, they are both Ionic Salon Professional dryers.
