My friend had one of these and used it on my hair, and I loved it so much I had to get one for myself! My other straightener couldn't get my hair to stay straight for more than a few hours, but it stays all day with this one. Only used the wet setting once and i was pleased with the results. I didn't experience any other discomfort with the steam vents that other reviewers talk about, just keep them pointed away from your hand.

I originally bought this for my daughter for Christmas. A few days ago I asked her if she liked the straightener and she said why don't you try it for yourself. I did and I went out and bought it the same day! It makes my hair super shiny and absolutely gorgeous. I have insanely thick hair and it is also on the dry side. If you saw my hair today you would never know it was dry or frizzy. I look like I was born with silky straight hair and that is definitely no the case. It is perfectly straight now and feels like silk. The soy makes a big difference. It is much cheaper than the Chi and works 10x better! The ONLY small thing that is negative is that it does give just a bit of static (not much though) Oh, and if you overdo it and put it on a very high setting your hair can get a little too straight. Other than than it is a fantastic product!!!

I saw this product in a magazine and figured I would try it. I was hoping to save time with it and for the most part I have. I definatly use a hair protecting cream so it doesn't fry my hair, but when I try to use it with wet hair, it takes too long and damages my hair. I have gotten to where I will blow dry it to about 85% dry, then switch to the straightener. Overall a good straightener, and don't forget the smoothing/protecting cream!!

This product never worked out of the box. When powered on, it would stay on for 3 or 4 seconds and then shut itself off.

This made my hair frizzier than it already is.
It did dry my hair in a good amount of time, since my hair is really thick and takes a long time to dry. but once it was dry it was too frizzy.

The only thing I would change is for the wet setting temperatures to be higher.
