Definitely holds in moisture! I really like that it doesn't leave my hair stiff and hard. My only complaint is the amount of product that has to be used to get the desired effects. To evenly distribute through hair from roots to ends requires half of the bottle. So if you have long hair (past your shoulders) then plan on running out quickly. My 6 oz bottle usually lasts for 3 to 4 applications depending on the humidity that day. Not for the faint of heart when considering cost effectiveness. It's also a little heavy but I like that.

I LOVE Ouidad Climate Control Gel, but I wanted to try this because Ouidad's latest launches are incredible. This is kind of a "jelly" - not a gel, not a cream, not a serum. It's closer to being a gel than a cream, but it definitely does not dry with the crunch or cast of most hair gels.I can tell this product is a good one, it's just not exactly right for my hair. I think this would be perfect if you want to add texture to your hair but you don't need stronger hold to keep definiton. My hair is coarse, so the Climate Control Gel is my dream-come-true. Moisture Lock Gel doesn't add much definiton, spring, or hold to my hair, even when used with other stylers. It does a great job at controlling frizz though, so if frizz management is what you're looking for this may be perfect for your hair. Also, hair that has a lot of definition naturally can probably get a more "beachy" look with this product.
