Comments about Real Techniques Expert Face Brush:

I've always heard that a good makeup brush makes all the difference in how makeup turns out & I always thought this was just a marketing ploy. WELL ... I am not too proud to admit when I am DEAD wrong! :)

I purchased this 'Expert Face Brush' after I felt the sample brush at the RT display. I needed something soft but firm to work my CC cream a bit more than my fingers or a buffing brush could & this fits the bill perfectly!

And WOW what a difference in the final look of my CC cream! SO incredibly happy with this purchase & definitely would recommend.

I bought this brush for blending, because my E.L.F. stipple brush just doesn't blend very well. This brush has replaced the E.L.F. brush completely. The bristles are soft yet densely packed and just a little product will go a long way with this brush. I read other reviews before buying it about the handle being too bulky, but I do not have this problem at all.

this brush is amazing! i wear a heavy full coverage foundation and this brush is just amazing for giving a floor less finish. I had never really used a brush for foundation but now i would never go back. This is definitely worth the money! i would say for the money you are getting a top quality brush give it a go especially if you wear heavy or difficult to blend foundations because this has been an amazing purchase for me.

Hi. How does this brush differ from the brush found in the 3 piece travels essentials kit titled "expert foundation brush"?

                            A:

The Expert Face Brush that is sold individually has much shorter bristles, and more bristles overall. This enables the brush to "grab onto" the product and buff it into the skin. The foundation brush is thinner, not as many bristles and is more angled, for more precise application specifically around the nose and chin. They both can be used for product application, but if you’re looking for a bit more coverage, the Expert Face Brush will probably work a bit better.

How does this brush compare to the Real Techniques "Buffing brush" that comes as part of the "Sam's Picks" brush set? What are the similarities and differences? The "buffing brush" was recommended for applying BareSkin serum foundation, and I am wondering how this brush would be different in it's application.

                            A:

This brush features firmer, more densely packed bristles than the Buffing Brush, which makes it ideal for liquid/cream formula application, while the Buffing Brush works best for loose/pressed powder application. Expert Face Brush is more suitable for application of bareSkin Foundation than Buffing Brush.

This brush is designed to apply and blend liquid and cream makeup formulas including BB and CC creams. It is easy to use and very versatile, so we would say, yes, it is great for beginners! Feel free to watch Real Techniques founder and makeup artist Sam Chapman's tutorial video here:

We recommend cleaning your brushes at least once weekly (more often if you have acne-prone skin). Use a brush shampoo or mild hair shampoo, and work into the bristles to create a lather with cool water. Rinse until the water runs clear. Lay flat to dry. You can also spritz your brushes with brush cleaner spray in between uses to keep them clean in between shampoos.

This brush is best for all-over application and blending of foundation, though it can be used to apply and blend blush and bronzer to broad areas of the face such as the apples of the cheeks or to contour the cheek bones.

We also suggest Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, which can be used in endless versatile ways including concealing and contouring:

How would you use this brush to apply the new BareMinerals liquid foundation? Would you place a drop of the foundation on the back of your hand, then dip the brush in it? Or directly apply the foundation on the brush then onto your face? I am confused as to how to use this brush for a liquid foundation since it does not have the reservoir built in like the bareminerals brush does. Thanks!!

The best method would likely be to distribute bareSkin Foundation to forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin, then buff and blend with Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, but we recommend experimenting with application to see what works best for you!
