Love this brush for the price! I find myself reaching for it almost everyday for foundation and creamy bronzers. It doesn't clean as easily as my other brushes though, I find that when I scrub it as much as I scrub other face brushes it's still full of product, and if you aren't gentle enough when you clean, you'll pull some bristles out. I love the even, natural application it provides though!

I absolutely love this brush. I was looking for something to replace a Pur Minerals brush that I like, but it has natural bristles which fall out and it's a little picky on the skin. This brush is so amazingly soft and application of my mineral foundation is so smooth. I just love this brush and plan to go out another one to keep at the office for touch-ups!

Great question. This is one of our best selling brushes and is perfect for just about all types of liquid, cream, mousse and cushion foundations. The cut and density of the bristles blends most foundations in perfectly. I think you will find this brush to be good to use!

This brush is one of our most versatile brushes in the Collection and it's no wonder that it's a Fan Favorite (as well as a personal favorite of mine)!! This is a perfect brush for pretty much all types of foundation: liquid, cream, mousse, etc., so I think you will be very pleased with how it applies and looks.

                    Hi Mrs Math Teacher,

Great question. I love the Expert Face Brush so much because it is so versatile - you can use it for pretty much any kind of foundation and blend it to get the coverage you want. I do think this brush would work well with a mousse.

If you're looking for lighter coverage with a mousse, you could also try our Stippling Brush (which is Ulta item #2230003). The bristles are a bit less dense than the Expert Face, so it may give you a more natural look (if that's what you're looking for).

Otherwise, I think the Expert Face would be great!

                    Thanks!

                    Hi Neesha,

That's a good question. I love this Expert Face Brush so much and use it for a number of things (foundation, contouring, etc). I actually would point you towards two other brushes, though, for bronzer. I think you need a brush which has bristles that are a little less dense.

The first one is our Real Techniques Powder Brush, found here: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod3220077. The bristles are more plush and allows you to get a gentle sweep of bronzer to give you that sun-kissed (but not over-made-up) look.

My personal favorite for applying bronzer is our Bold Metals Arched Powder brush, which you can find here: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod11831007. It's our highest quality brush & bristle combo, and it's a bit flatter than the Original Collection Powder Brush I just mentioned. That enables me to get a nice sweep of bronzer. Plus, these are our softest bristles ever, so the brush is absolutely luxurious to use!

                    Hope that helps!

                    Hi Neesha,

The Expert Face Brush is one of my most favorite brushes, simply because you can do so many things with it! Foundation, blush, contour, etc! But, I think, if you're going for a sun-kissed look with a bronzer, you would be better off using a brush that has a fuller head and is a little less dense & concentrated that the Expert Face brush.

Here are two that I would recommend:

                    1) our Real Techniques Powder Brush: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod3220077

                    2) our Bold Metals Arched Powder Brush: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod11831007

I actually love the Bold Metals brush specifically for bronzer because it has our highest quality bristles to date and is so soft and light that it gives me the exact look I'm going for.

                    Thanks - hope that helps!

How long can you use this brush until it needs to be replaced ?

                  1 answer

                  • Brand Expert

                    A:

                    Hi makeupsparkles,

That's a great question, and it really does depend on how much you use your brush on a daily basis, and how well you take care of it (cleaning, storage, etc).

If you do use your brush quite a bit (at least every day), we would probably recommend replacing it every 6mos to a year to get the best performance, results and look that you want.

Make sure that you are cleaning your brushes on a somewhat regular basis, though. Once a week or once every two weeks, at least. We have come out with a great new cleansing system to help you with this.

We have developed a Brush Cleansing Palette (which you can find here: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod13731029&skuId=2297111&_requestid=972847). This was specifically designed to clean brush heads and has multi-textured surfaces to clean different brushes and bristles. It's a gentler way to get a good clean.

We also have a Deep Cleansing Gel that was formulated just for the type of bristles on these brushes. You can find that here: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod13121017

After you've washed your brushes, make sure you squeeze any excess moisture out of the bristles, and leave them to dry at an angle, with the brush head facing down. That eliminates any water sitting in the ferrule, which could cause your brush bristles to shed.

Thanks so much and I hope that helped!

                    Hi Desii,

Thanks for your question - it's a good one! This Expert Face Brush can be used for just about anything foundation-related, it's just such an awesome multi-tasker, but for a color correcting product, I would actually point you to our Stippling Brush. You can find it on Ulta.com here:

                    http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod3220083

The Stippling Brush has bristles that are a little less dense than the Expert Face Brush, which makes for an ideal application of a lighter-type cream (like a CC cream).

And, no matter what kind of foundation product you're using, make sure you're cleansing your brushes on a somewhat regular bases (1x/week at least). We have a great new gel cleanser that is formulated specifically for brushes. You can get that on Ulta.com here:

                    http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod13121017

                    HI Anna -

Great question! My answer would be both! :)

The great thing about the Real Techniques brushes is that they are meant to all have more than one use, and in this case, truly either brush would work well for you in terms of applying a matte liquid foundation.

If I have to choose, I would recommend the Expert Face Brush every so slightly over the Stippling, and that truly is just personal preference. Both are going to blend and apply beautifully and work the product in to your face (rather than work it deep into the bristles of your brush). But I love the density of the Expert Face Brush and find it just a bit easier to cover all areas of my face.

                    Hope that helps!
