Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Step 2: Nail Laquer:

I purchased two colors: Only in Hollywood and White Hot. The color Only in Hollywood reminds me so much of the nail polish by China Glaze, "Ruby Pumps"! I love these gel polishes because they work as easy as any gel polish. I cured them under my UV light for 60 seconds (though it says 45), and they were perfectly cured. Even though there are fine glitters, the texture came out perfectly smooth. I bought these during the buy one get one free deal and so it was totally worth it!

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Step 2: Nail Laquer:

I've been getting gel manicures at my salon, but will be without access [to my salon] all summer. I decided I would try doing the gel manicure myself to save money (besides, I don't really trust other salons). I admit that my first time using the Red Carpet system I did not do a good job. The polish was a strange texture and did not look even or smooth. However, practice makes perfect! It's important to use a thin and even coat. It's also a good idea to use the lamp for at least twice as long as the instructions say.

Thought it was going to be pink--was actually a clear polish with silver sparkles. It still looks nice, but it's not a pink polish.

Although this nail polish doesn't last quite as long as going to get a gel manicure at a salon, it lasts way longer than regular nail polish. I have a very hands on physical job and this polish lasts at least a week w/o chipping where as before I tried this polish i could make it only hours before ruining my polish. The price is great too! only $1-2 more than OPI or Essie. Definitely worth the money!

Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Step 2: Nail Laquer:

I got my first gel manicure only about two months ago. I instantly fell in love with the manicure, but not the price. The salon I was going to charged $57 for a removal and application of gel polish. My budget just does not allow for that. I had seen Red Carpet Manicure products in Ulta before and started to do more research when I decided I wanted to get gel polish to give myself gel manicures at home. I usually love love love to do my nails, even with normal polish, but they never last- especially because of my job. I work at a cell phone store and am constantly pulling cases and backs off of phones which can be really damaging to my nails and nail polish.

I had purchased the pro LED light a few months back to help harden and put some shine to normal nail polish (an Ulta associate told me it would do so) so all I needed to purchase was the prep, base coat, color, and top coat. I ended up purchasing "High Society" and "Shimmering Gown". The color "High Society" is beautiful on my nails, but is definitely a little deceptive in the bottle. The bottle of "High Society" makes it seem like the color is going to be a turquoise color, but it is actually very dark teal. I am totally okay with this, as it matches the "Shimmering Gown" which is a glittery polish. I would definitely recommend purchasing this IN an Ulta store instead of online or you may be disappointed in the color.

The first time I gave myself an at-home gel manicure, I ended up with all kinds of bumps and bubbles in the polish and on two of my nails, the polish just consistently peeled off and I had to keep redoing those two nails. I did them again today and my bad experience was clearly because of user error. I have learned that you have to use THIN layers of each step- base, color, and top coat. You also want to make sure you wipe off any of the layer from your skin before curing the gel using the "Erase" by Red Carpet Manicure as well. I did that today and my nails look like I just came from the salon.

My first at-home gel manicure lasted about a week and a half, but I did need to touch up in between. I am confident that this manicure will last a good two weeks, but I might need to reapply the top coat here and there because I did notice last time that the color does look dull after a few days. An Ulta just opened in my town and I WILL be buying more Red Carpet Manicure gel polish- it is SO easy and so much more convenient to use than regular nail polish. It is also not as difficult to take off as some gels are, and would be easy enough to do a manicure every week if you really wanted to. Overall, I think this product is awesome and I only spent $50 on two colors and the essentials package that includes Revitalize, Prep, Structure, Brilliance, Erase, and Purify which is less than one manicure for me at the salon. THAT is what is most astonishing to me. Woohoo!
