Although this was more expensive than my usual heat protection spray, I decided to try it because it promised the smoothest, silkiest, healthiest hair yet. Big mistake!!!.... it failed to deliver on all counts.

The first thing I noticed was the awful smell - as a previous reviewer said, it is like cheap hairspray and very strong. The product also felt quite sticky.

Instead of helping the straighteners to glide more easily through the hair as you would expect with this type of product, it actually made it more difficult to straighten my hair. Afterwards, my hair was neither smooth nor silky as it usually is after straightening. Worst of all, the bottom two inches or so of my hair felt very dry. I hoped that this was caused by a residue of product on my hair, but after washing and conditioning my hair again I found that it is still very dry... this product has actually damaged my hair!!

I would advise anyone to AVOID THIS PRODUCT LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

I like this with the exception that you have to hold an arms length away to prevent it from being heavy and greasy. Not hard until I get to the back of my hair. Otherwise happy with it

Spray my hair when damp before blow-drying then again when dry before straighening - seems to work great, but at a lesser price point than Chi/Redken/etc.

This was so TERRIBLE! I used it once and will NOT use again. It has a terrible smell...like cheap hairspray and power-y (old lady, if you will) perfume. And this smell lasted in my hair until I washed it again. It weighed my hair down, which I dont typically have an issue with. Was sticky and felt like I sprayed alot of hairspray all over my hair. My hair was not even close to being soft. In fact it felt dried out, which I completely contribute to this product since it was the only new product I introduced into my regular routine. I have seen some other comments say they felt their hair was more tangled--I can't say for sure if I noticed this to be a problem for me.

Bottom line...will never use again. Would never recommend. Even if they gave it away it wouldn't be worth. This is the only product from this line I have tried and can't see myself trying out anything else. I gave this product 1 star only because I couldn't give it 0.

Just OK for me. I was expecting my hair to feel softer and smoother, however, this spray tends to dry out and tangle my hair a bit. Sorry, but I don't think I'll be purchasing this again.

Ok so I have very curly hair that has always been a mess. I usually blow dry & flat iron my hair every other day but it is so damaging. Ive tried hundreds of products over the years, so since this stuff was on sale I decided it wouldnt hurt to try. OMG this is the only product that has been able to tame my curls. This is what I do... shampoo hair then use the stafford argan oil conditioner. When i get out of the shower I spray the heat defense spray all over my hair (the smell is over whelming but just try not to inhale lol) then I let my hair air dry, I dont even add heat and the stuff works great.... Also what I did to deep condition (once a week) was after washing my hair I used some of the conditioner and some straight up argan oil (found in a beauty supply store, comes in a small bottle, they had it by the register) combed that thru my hair and loosly piled on my head, then put on a shower/color cap. To get the heat I did some yard work outside & washed my car (who cares what the neighbors think) with it being 90 degrees outside, my hair got plenty heat under that cap.

Maybe it's just because my hair is a little damaged, but I only spray this on my ends and they seem to tangle (maybe because it contains alcohol?) easily as opposed to when I don't have this product in my hair. I also prefer to have to just spray this on once when hair is wet, which I've resorted to doing, but the bottle recommends spraying twice, when the hair is wet and again after you've blow-dryed it. Not very convenient & seems to make my hair even stickier than with one application. While the smell isn't unpleasant it is very strong and isn't a smell for everyone. It is very musky, I think it's an either hate or love it kind of scent. My main reason for not recommending is that while it does seem to protect, it is just the stiffness it seems to give my hair as I prefer more movement and would also prefer no scent or a more subtle or fresh one.

I spray on before I blow dry my hair. I've been using this product for two weeks and it's wonderful. I have dry hair with lot's of split ends. And since I've been using this spray my hair is soft and silky with less split ends. The smell isn't too great but I can deal with it.
