I have mid back length, super thick hair. I perform in theatre a lot which requires diverse hairstyles that can hold up to dancing and numerous rapid costume changes. Bobby pins just cannot cut it for up-dos with my hair. But these are great!! They are quick to put in, create a secure hold, and stay put. Plus they are easy to get out. They work with more than just a bun style too. I did further secure my style with bobby pins, but it was so much simpler and more secure than bobby pins alone. Oh, and the price is a steal!

I really like these pins! However, my hair is thin and the ends of the pins stick out of my bun... Should have bought the shorter version.

I got this as an alternative to using clips which I feel look childish and cheap at work. The only problem is that I can't find any hairstyles that this works for except a standard bun. I've googled but still just see a bun. At least I don't have clips sticking out of my hair anymore.
