RCM Starter kit really does have everything you need for an at home gel manicure (except for the lint free wipes, which are really cheap to add to the cart.) I love the classic red color included with the kit, but it does take meticulous clean ups with an acetone-dipped orange wood stick during application to make sure none is staining the cuticle or skin. That alone made my first manicure take almost two hours to complete. But that being said, by following the instructions precisely, I had a PERFECT manicure for two FULL weeks my first time out. It probably would have lasted a few days longer, but I wanted to redo it before a vacation.

I do wear gloves for dishes and most sloppy jobs, but I still abused my hands by any standards: washed all the windows in the house, washed the car (several times over two weeks), pulled weeds, bathed the dog, etc. and my nails were perfect.

Removal was not difficult, but it was time consuming and took about as long to get the polish off as it did to put it on carefully. My nails felt wonderfully strong and healthy after removal. MUCH better than wearing traditional lacquer polish, which make my nails peel and split terribly

While this is definitely a time commitment to do correctly - at least until I get more practiced at it - it wears like iron, looks beautiful and so far seems to be treating my natural nails very well.

I am so impatient but love doing my own nails, so I finally broke down and bought this after doing weeks of research. I am completely pleased! my nails look just like I got them done in a salon without the salon price! and the best part is they are dry right away so I can get on with my day!

I bought this because regular polish chips off in one day and I didn't want to keep going to the salon to get the gel polish. I thought twice about buying this because of the price but it is well worth the money. I even detailed my car the day after I applied the polish and not one chip. Love this product, I will be purchasing more colors.

Some reviews have said the polish is hard to take off, I followed the directions and most of it peeled up after removing cotton ball and foil.

Fabulous kit. After reading other reviews I purchased the pro 45 kit for the quicker LED cure time. I followed the instructions carefully, and my nails looked perfect from the first use. I'm used to painting my own nails, so even though you have to be more precise with this product, I only have to use it every 2 weeks. Took me about an hour to apply it for the first time, but hopefully I'll get quicker as I get used to all of the steps.

The polish is thicker than regular nail polish which to me makes it a little harder to apply. The red color that comes with the kit is good. Brighter, cuter on than expected from looking at the bottle color.

I didn't realize there were special applicator kits that went with this product before I read the instructions. I don't use anything special except a wooden stick to push cuticles back and help correct mistakes, and tissues and regular cotton balls and foil to remove.

love. easy but takes a bit to apply. lasted only five days first time(chipped two nails and skipped the step of buffing off my natural nail shine didn't want to risk damaging them), but I think that was because I put base and top too thick around edges and think It will last longer next time but even five days is long wear for me, busy mom with lots of housework and normal nail polish only lasts two days at most. Removal was easy took 25mins used cotton pads cut into pieces and tin foil. left on the 15mins directions called for, after getting it on all nails. peeled off easy with orange wood stick with no damage.

First time using it myself (seen it done ON my nails by professionals), I had a few brushstroke marks (too thin of a layer) -- second time I did my nails - perfected it!

If you can paint your nails, you will be able to do this! It is multi-step but easy to do. I keep the instructions out since there are like 6 steps BUT it has already paid for itself in 1.25 applications! Save your money - buy this! :)
