I was foolish to think I didn't need this prep product. You do. It preps the nail to receive the gel polish from base to top coat. I tried my manicure with and without. Without chipped after a week's wear. With is going strong at 3 weeks in. Just use it. It works.

This is a necessary to prep your nails before you use the gel products.
Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Step 1: Prep Max Adhesion Sanitizer:
What a great product! I went from repairing chips every other day with regular polish to never having to do anything but enjoy my manicure. Put it on and a week later not a single chip. So smooth and shiny, looks amazing. Kind of pricey to buy all the items initially, but so worth it! So glad I took the plunge.
Comments about Red Carpet Manicure Step 1: Prep Max Adhesion Sanitizer:
I got the whole set as an early Valentine's Day present. I've had many gel/shellac manis in the past, and while they DO last forever, I hate paying to have them done. When done properly, the RCM DOES last! It's more labor intensive (obviously) than just going to a salon for it, but in the long run, it's worth it. I've done my nails twice and a friend's nails once. She loved it so much that she is going to get the kit, too. Follow the instructions and use the proper products, and you shouldn't have any issues. The polish is expensive and the bottles are small, but the coverage is EXCELLENT and it really spreads! We didn't have any issues with gloopy spots or streaks.Be careful not to get too close to your skin/cuticles, because it WILL snag and peel. My first mani wasn't so great because I didn't do a greaqt job painting, but the second and third were awesome. I would recommend this to anyone. For the bad reviews on here, I imagine (and read) that many of the users skipped steps or tried to do it their own way. Again, follow the proper instructions and use the proper products!
