Comments about John Frieda Sleek Finish Flat Iron:

I don't know why I waited so long to get a flat iron. Different hair styles need different tools. I was still using a curling iron.

    Terrible

    By Cc

Comments about John Frieda Sleek Finish Flat Iron:

This flat iron was awful. I was extremely disappointed. It's designed so poorly, it makes odd noises, and it just doesn't work very well. I could hardly straighten or curl my hair with it and I have very fine hair that's usually easy to style. I'm returning this immediately.

    Pricey & Poor Design

    By Amanda

    from Maryland

Comments about John Frieda Sleek Finish Flat Iron:

Bought this as a replacement for an old Remington that worked great but was wearing out. The design of this straightener as others have said is terrible. Buttons are placed poorly, and while I didn't push them all the time, I would accidentally press them here and there so I became overly conscious of it. Quickly returned for another Remington. I gave an extra star because it did actually straighten my coarse and frizzy hair quite well.

    bad design

Comments about John Frieda Sleek Finish Flat Iron:

This straightening iron would be perfect if it would stay on!! The design is poor and the on/off button and the temp setting is put right where I would grip the iron. I kept shutting it off and changing the temp every time I grabbed it. Clearly, it wasn't tested even once before being produced. I hope I have my receipt to return this!!!

    very poor design

    By Luda

    from Gresham, OR

Comments about John Frieda Sleek Finish Flat Iron:

the design is ridiculous and horrible. The location of the power button makes it almost impossible to use without constantly turning it on and off by accident. Did they not have anyone test this product? The controls are right on the front of the top handle.

      Not My Favorite...

      By BrunetteKayKay

      from Pennsylvania

Comments about John Frieda Sleek Finish Flat Iron:

The ceramic coating on the plates wears off after only a few uses. The placement of the temperature adjustment are poorly placed, I often end up pushing a button on accident while styling my hair, and then the iron turns off. When straightening my hair, this iron snags my hair terribly, and makes a terrible sound. However, when I am finished straightening the hair I have left, the style stays all day. Honestly, I have quite a few mixed feelings about this product.

              • Q:

Does this product have a "swivel-cord" because I find myself using my flatiron to create curls and waves ad I hate when the cord tangles up and becomes hard to use when straightening, so I always buy flatirons with the swivel cord and I wanted to check before I purchased this one.

              • Q:

I have this flat iron but I'm unsure what temperature I should use. I have pretty fine highlighted blonde hair. I tried using it on the lowest setting, but my hair did not straighten. I'm a little hesitant to go up in temperature. Is there a range I should be in for having fine hair?

Yes, see below for the ranges for each hair type:

Medium-High 400 degrees F: Thick or wavy hair
