Comments about John Frieda Sleek Finish Flat Iron:

The buttons are in the wrong place and I am constantly turning it off or changing the temperature on accident. It makes a sizzling electrical noise and I'm not sure that it is safe. It also snags my hair. Pretty bad all around.

    Best Straightener I've Ever Had!

    By Jess

    from Indiana

Comments about John Frieda Sleek Finish Flat Iron:

I've had this straightener for about two years now and it's still going good. It don't pull on my hair and I love the different temperature setting it has. It didn't dry my hair out and my hair gets straightened much faster. I love it??

Forgot my CHI flatiron when going away and this is pretty good replacement as I did not want to spend the $$ for a second CHI.

The buttons are in the wrong spot! You are always hitting it and either turning it off or changing the temp on it. Taking it back this weekend!

Comments about John Frieda Sleek Finish Flat Iron:

For the most part this is a great flat iron, heats up fast, straightens my super thick curly hair quick, too(which many irons I have purchased don't do to well). Nice size and has a great variety of heat settings, BUT my biggest problem(complaint) with this iron is the location of the on/off and temp buttons. They are located right on the main handle so when you are holding the iron and working on your hair you have to be really careful not to push your hand down even a little or it will change the temp or even shut the iron off. That is the only real issue with this iron for me, otherwise it does what I bought it for an well!

I usually don't straighten my hair very often and I was scared to purchase a new iron because I loved my last one, but this one is great!

Comments about John Frieda Sleek Finish Flat Iron:

The first two times I used this product, I loved it! Curled or straightened my hair so fast and was so smooth. I read the reviews and saw the complaints about the button placement, and thought, "Well, I can just learn to hold it differently so it doesn't hit the off button during use." However, it is impossible. Upon my third time using it, no matter where I touched on the handle it was simply turn off, and since there is no sound option, you never knew it was off until you were using it and it wasn't working. I turned it back on and set it down to heat up again ( which is in like 15 seconds) went to pick it back up, and it had already shut itself back off before I even touched it! Maybe it's defective, but I returned it. So sad too, because it is light weight and worked great when it WAS ON!

                    • Q:

I have this flat iron but I'm unsure what temperature I should use. I have pretty fine highlighted blonde hair. I tried using it on the lowest setting, but my hair did not straighten. I'm a little hesitant to go up in temperature. Is there a range I should be in for having fine hair?
