Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder:

I use this powder daily and like it -- I'm not sure that it is really any better or different from other similar options, but I like other smashbox products so I have stuck with it.

My only complaint is I have now bought 3 compacts over the last 2 years and 2 of them have had the clasp break so it would not close and stay closed. The 3rd is brand new so I haven't had issues yet but fully expect it to also break. They last such a long time, I just wish the hardware was a little better quality to keep up. It looks bad to have all this nice make up in your bag and then a compact held shut by a rubberband.

Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder:

I have acne prone skin and have tried L'Oreal True Mineral and Bare Minerals before. I liked both brands but I was looking for a more dewy finish instead of the matte one I used to get from the other products.

This product feels really great on my skin, it blends well and it even seems like it looks better and more natural the longer you wear it. The colour is very natural and it makes my skin look dewy and healthy, my skin even feels softer. However, while the powder evens the skin tone a little, it does not cover very well. So if you have blemishes or dark spots to cover up, you might want to use it with a concealer.

Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder:

I have acne-prone skin and used mineral makeup for a long time, including the famous mineral finishing powder. I always liked the way it looked, but it had no staying powder: it was gone by lunchtime. Smashbox goes on so lightly and smoothly, doesn't clog pores; never settles into creases, and doesn't cake onto blemishes either. It's definitely my favorite finishing powder, one of my favorite products ever, overall.

I currently use philosophy foundation and
Minerals powder. I would like longer coverage. I also have a tendancy to get red in my cheeks mid afternoon sometimes causing a burning sensation. Would this powder be similar to minerals.

This product is similar to minerals and features a luminous talc-free formula that can be worn alone or over foundation as a finishing powder.

Halo applies to sheerly that either Light/Medium or Medium may work well for you. We recommend testing both shades at your nearest ULTA store to determine your best match:

I'm on the fence between light and light/neutral. Can you describe the primary differences between the two? Light appears more pink; would light/neutral have more of a yellow undertone to hide redness?

              A:

You are absolutely correct! Though both shades are appropriate for light complexions, Light is ideal for those with pink undertones, while Light/Neutral is ideal for those with both yellow & pink undertones or those with skin redness as a color corrector.
