Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder:

This powder is best for people that want a natural even skin tone coverage. This is not full coverage very light. I am lucky enough that i have good skin. I like to use this product to even my skin complexion and help with giving my skin a matte look.I love the packaging is very non messy and simple. I am Filipino with tan skin and I use the color TAN, this color works perfect not to light, not orangey and not to dark... PERFECT!

I really like this product, its easy and fast for full coverage. And I can touch it up at the end of the day with my brush and a small amount and looks great. Only one thing that I have an issue with is when I travel, it spills inside the compact it self and sometimes in my make up bag.

The holes in the compact are quite small so you have to continue to shake it but at least you don't get more product than you need. Been a MAC user for years and I am enjoying Smashbox even more.

Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder:

I have really dry skin, especially my cheeks. They get downright flaky. But I also don't like to wear a ton of make-up that ends up looking cakey on my face. I use a tinted moisturizer as foundation (to help combat the dryness and give me a little coverage) and set it with a loose powder...but I usually find that the loose powder drys me right out, undoing the good the tinted moisturizer just did. I'd done quite a bit of research and tried 4-5 different loose powders that were $20 or less but none of them gave me the results I was looking for. I finally decided to splurge on Halo and I will NEVER GO BACK! It is the BEST loose powder I have ever used - EVER. It gives me just enough coverage without looking caked on, and does not dry my skin out! I am also incredibly impressed with how long it wears. It is a bit pricey, but it is worth every penny.

Definitely a regular product to buy now. Lasts all day and night, especially when I'm done working and decide to go out, its still there with zero flaws at 5 in the morning!

I purchased this powder when my normal brand's color no longer matched by "tanned" skin. This color matched my skin tone perfectly. I bought the medium. Blends very well to give a smooth light weight finish. Great coverage. Perfect for my combination skin. However, this powder is not cheap.

Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder:

The first time I used this product was with the Smashbox BB cream. I did not like the results. I was shiny and after a few hours my makeup looked caked on.
I tried it again after I went back to my old BB cream and used the perfecting powder to set it. Loved the look! I wore it for 8+ hours in high humidity and no shine came through. Another added bonus is that you chose how much powder to grind so there is very little wasted which I think is a great idea since this is a pricier product. Worth it!

I'm on the fence between light and light/neutral. Can you describe the primary differences between the two? Light appears more pink; would light/neutral have more of a yellow undertone to hide redness?

                A:

You are absolutely correct! Though both shades are appropriate for light complexions, Light is ideal for those with pink undertones, while Light/Neutral is ideal for those with both yellow & pink undertones or those with skin redness as a color corrector.

This product provides sheer coverage. It can be worn alone or as a luminous finishing powder over your favorite primer and foundation for more coverage. Shade Light/Medium may be your best match, though we suggest testing this shade at your nearest ULTA store:
