Purchased this for my wife, because I liked the features, performance and it is quiet relative to other hairdryer. She loved the hair dryer but the cord is so unmanageable we took it back.

I don't understand the logic of a thick, long "heavy" cord, when this model is advertised as Light Weight? Doesn't that Defeat the purpose? The cord on my Circular Saw is thinner and lighter.

I had a T3 previously- which I purchased in Dec of 2011 for more than the Solano retails for. I expected at that price point for that to last longer. I decided to try the Solano at the store and just loved it. I like the weight and the heat levels and pressure. Like with any new hair tool you have to experiment with the controls until it suits you. I'm pretty pleased so far.

I was in the market for a blow dryer and was insistent on getting a "good" blow dryer. I had narrowed my search down to the Solano and the T3. After much thought I bought the Solano since it was recommended by a friend and I had read very good reviews on it. I did have the concern that it wasn't hot enough since I had read that review but after owning a cheap blow dryer that was too hot and dried my hair out I wasn't sure that I even knew what was considered too hot or not hot enough. After having the drier for a week I will say that my hair looks better after each use. I looks healthy and shiny like I just came from the salon. Love it !!

...but thats about where the promises end. I totally believe in the necessity of a good, top of the line hairdryer, and have used both Chi and T3 over the past 8 or so years with spectacular results. It was about time to replace my old T3 Featherweight and Ive been reading lots of really rave reviews about this hairdryer, so I decided to give it a try. As the title of my review states, the dryer *is* lightweight, however thats the only good point about it. I found the air stream too powerful, like directing a small tornado at my head, which obviously makes it hard to style one's hair. Unfortunately, in addition to gale force strength, the beam of whirling destruction seemed oddly cool in comparison to both the Chi and T3, even on the warmest setting. Lastly, and most upsettingly, my hair looked dull, flat, and decidedly less soft as it would have if I had used my old T3 or air dried it, which is troubling since I have a Brazilian Blowout which makes my hair look like spun silk, even on a bad hair day. I tried this dryer 4 different times, just to make sure it wasnt some kind of fluke or a styling product issue, but each and every time the result was the same: dull, flat, lifeless, unacceptable. Who cares if its lighter than a bottle of water if it makes you look worse after using it? It went back to Ulta and I ponied up the extra $40 for a new T3 Featherweight 2. My hair has never been happier.

I have very thick baby fine hair, yes, you read that right. I have tons and tons and tons of baby fine hair that is extremely straight. I need a professional grade hair dryer that will dry my hair quickly without a ton of damage. I liked this since it wasn't too heavy and had the benefits of being ceramic and also ionic. I do wish I could have had it in a different color, but this was all that was left. It is a little heavy, but not cumbersome. I appreciate the nozzle that points the stream of air. Overall, it has been a big improvement.
