I overly love this brush! I use it with my foundation and follow with a powder (of course) & it exceeded my expectations. I thought it would leave lines like the Mac brush and it doesn't, at least not as noticeable. I'd buy 2 more when they go back on sale!

I bought this product because ulta was having a sale and this was a fan favorite on the website. I used it to apply my foundation, but honestly I wasn't a fan of how the brush felt. I prefer the real techniques expert face brush or the buffing brush.

Will this brush be good to use with my Pür cosmetics 4-in-1 powder? I know that they made a chisel brush specifically for that foundation, but I already have this brush at home, as well as the Urban Decay blurring brush.

Yes, you can certainly use the Stippling Brush to apply and blend Pur Cosmetics 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Powder Foundation! This brush can be used to apply, buff, and blend all types of makeup, including powder, liquid, and cream foundations, as well as powder and cream blushes.

As a beginner I want to pick a brush that can I multitask a lot with and can get the most different uses out of. I know this one works with all types of makeup but so does the sculpting brush. which one should i choose?

                  A:

GREAT question! If you're a beginner, there is a lot of information out there, and a lot of it can be overwhelming! But you are already one step ahead of the game, thinking about multiple uses for your brushes! That's one of the things we love so much about the Real Techniques brush brand – they are designed with more than one "use" in mind! So, as far as which brush would be better to multi-task, we think you would be best to go with the Sculpting Brush. The Stippling Brush is *terrific* and there are a lot of ways to use it, but we think you are going to find that you can use the Sculpting Brush in at least 4 different ways. Here's how we like to use it:

                  • Primers/Base Foundations: this brush is perfect for liquids or pressed liquid primers & foundations. The shorter to medium bristles can be used in a buffing motion to apply product onto the skin evenly, and you can use this brush for a layering technique, depending on how you want your base to look.
                  • Powders: this has a similar cut to a kabuki brush (it's just not as large), but it's still great for applying powders. The angled cut of the brushes helps you get powder (and foundation) in all those little crevices.
                  • Blush/bronzer: use this with bronzers in a sweeping motion across areas of your face where the sun would "kiss". Use with blush (liquid or powder) on cheeks to angle & buff for a perfect blush application.
                  • Sculpting/contouring (what it was primarily designed for): the angle on this brush makes it perfect to apply product to create a sculpted and contoured look.

Also, Real Techniques has a great brush cleanser, and cleaning your brushes will be key if you're using multiple products on one brush. Check out that cleanser here:

Thanks so much for your question, and please let us know if you have any more questions as you start to build your makeup routine! :-)

When switching in between product "forms" (such as liquid and powder), we recommend cleaning your brush to prevent any glazing effect on the powder product, and also to ensure that the products apply smoothly to your skin without any build-up on the bristles.

Yes, this brush can be used to apply, buff, and blend all types of makeup, including powder (both pressed and loose), liquid, and cream foundations, as well as powder and cream blushes. It does not have a mattifying effect, as this has more to do with the product you're applying rather than the applicator you're using.

                  A:

Yes, the Stippling Brush is designed to give you more coverage due to the densely packed bristles and narrower brush head. It provides more targeted application and will use more product. The powder brush disperses product more broadly and is meant to give you a more natural finish.
