When I went to buy this product, my local Ulta did not have the Fake Bake Flawless lotion. I had read reviews after seeing beauty gurus use it on YouTube. I decided to try the next best thing which was this gel tanner. It was HORRIBLE. I exfoliated my skin like the directions suggest and once I put it on my shin, it felt like ants biting me. The burning feeling went away after a few seconds but once I had it all over me, I felt extremely sticky. I've had it on for about 2 hours now and if I put my legs together they stick to each other still..I still want to try the lotion but I will never use this gel again!

Used at night. Felt sticky all night. Initially smells ok, but once it starts to dry itahas that awful sunless tanner smell.
The tan it produces is very natural looking - not orange.

I use this gel daily, at night- like directions suggest. I like the light feeling, the resulting color and the lack of "self-tanner odor" - but it seems more of a bronzer than a self-tanning gel. I feel like 50% of the color comes off in the shower the following morning. That's probably why I go through it so fast. Oh and - I use dark sheets now because the lighter ones get stained right away. It washes out but I can't change my sheets daily. I like this gel better than lotions but I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth the price. The tan that results from this gel in the blue box is the best color, like a GOLDEN tan, as opposed to the Extreme version which is too dark for me. This gel gives me the gold tan look I get on the ocean (specifically Cali and FL- I turn a redder brown in HI. It dries fast and has a faint alcohol scent that quickly dissappears but it doesn't dry skin out at all. I think that it's pretty high-priced for having to use it daily to maintain a nice tone. I'm sure I'll continue to buy it unless I find another gel. Another nice perk from Fake Bake is that a pair of easy to work with gloves is in every box.

I used this exactly as directed, and I have great, natural color right now. Fake Bake suggests using their lotion to protect rough areas such as toes, ankles, elbows, etc. I used The Body Shop's Body Butter because it's what I had available, and it worked just fine.

I actually tanned the areas with the layer of lotion on them, and then dabbed off with a dark washcloth so that those rough areas wouldn't tan too deeply. It worked very well!

I'm naturally fair skinned with freckles, and this tan looks completely natural on me.

I bought the gel because it's supposed to dry more quickly. Because this gel doesn't dry skin out, though, it still feels a little tacky even after 10 minutes of hanging out in the air conditioning. I was worried that before bed with the tacky-feeling skin, that it would wipe off unevenly while I slept, but when I popped out of bed this morning, it looked flawless. Awesome surprise!

I have been a Fake Bake user for a long time, I love when the gel came out because it doesn't require the same time commitment as the original. I can also put this in with regular lotion to have a gradual tanner. Use a coupon and this stuff is a great buy!

This is by far my favorite self tanner...tried the Xtreme gel to but found this one far easier to apply and deal with!

This tanning product works very well. The color is realistic and it covers very well. The only thing I would improve on would be the consistency of the gel, it is a little greasy and I would love it if the color of the product was a little darker so you could better tell where you have applied the product.

I've only been using it for a little over a week and its still kind of cool here so I haven't seen how it wear after the pool or beach but the color is great and it goes on even...can't ask for more than that! :)

I am very fair and it worked great for me.
