The clips are kind of a weak plastic material that does not hold up like other small barretts I have.

I am African-American and have very wavy hair. Whether I wear my hair natural or blow-dry it straight, these hair clips are fashionable enough to wear to work and out to play, but toned-down enough to wear to the gym or out running errands.

These little barrettes are very cute and versatile. They stay clipped shut and are easy to use. I have fine, straight hair so I have found that if I don't clip a big enough chunk of hair in the barette or if there's a lot of movement in my hair - wind, shaking my head - the barrette slides down my hair out of place.

Real metal barrettes in a style that is sophisticated rather than girlish. I have fine hair and these are still able to hold securely. It's hard to find clips that don't either, look more suitable for an 11 year old or don't have rhinestones on them so was very happy to find these.
