I hesitated between Artisan and Artisan Black and ended up buying Artisan for my hubby after 3 trips to the store. What i like about it is the notes in it keep you guessing about what's coming up next. You just can't stop smelling it... In my opinion, it's very sensual and mysterious and only fits a sophisticated man age 40 and over. Would make a young guy smell like little boy using dad's cologne, so i wouldn't recommend it for the younger crowd. I simply love it!

My husband uses it daily at work and also at home. So nice that he always smells SO nice!

Artisan smells great for the first hour or so, but unfortunately like most men's fragrances quickly dissipates and requires frequent reapplications. I wish it lasted longer because it's a great fragrance, and I get many compliments while wearing it.

If you like citrus/herbal fragrances, this is for you. However, with my husband being a huge fan of the Original and the Vintage John Varvatos fragrances, he did not like this new Artisan fragrance at all . It is somewhat irritating with an unidentifiable ingredient.
