Comments about Splat Complete Color Kit:

I used to use the luscious raspberry color on my dark brown hair with highlights and got a wonderful overall red/pink effect that lasted several months and faded nicely to auburn. This was about a year and a half ago that I started using it.
I recently bleached and dyed my hair blue using a different dye that I got from Ulta. I wasn't impressed with the fading in sun exposed areas, so I picked up a box of Splat's sapphire dye. Sapphire is NOT BLUE. It is teal, and I was extremely disappointed. I'm still washing a lot of dye out of my hair at 5 washes out, and the woman cutting my hair tonight noticed that I still have dye on my scalp, and I usually scrub my scalp pretty well. I might have to switch to getting my hair professionally done after this.

Comments about Splat Complete Color Kit:

I decided to treat myself for my 30the birthday with purple tips on some of my locs. I love that everything came in the kit. It was super easy to use and the dye smelled like fruit candy. Only downside is, if you have a lot of hair or are doing your entire head, you will need multiple boxes. The color is bold. Mine hides unless in direct light because my unbleached and colored hair in dark, but in the sun, my tips are poppin'!

I love using this dye for touch ups. The color will stain your scalp and skin. It also is terrible for covering gray hair.

Comments about Splat Complete Color Kit:

How to use, so that you will LOVE this hair color. First, any time you are going to bleach, then color your hair, it's going to be time consuming. Second, this color is NOT permenant, so it will only "Stain" your hair. Third, get some nitril gloves, foils, a mixing bowl and brush applicator at your local beauty supply store. After bleaching your hair (For truest color, the lighter you get your hair, the more the color will look as it does on the box) section your hair off into smaller, thinner sections, rather than putting this color all over your head. Put the color into the mixing bowl and use a brush applicator to apply the color to the sections of hair, this way you avoid staining your scalp, face and ears. After brushing color on each section of hair, wrap section with foil. After your whole head is complete, take a flat iron, and tap over the foils, beginning at the root, and continuing to tap, to the tips. Do this over each section of hair. The molecules of temporary hair dye, are to large to penetrate the cuticle of the hair, applying heat, OVER THE FOILS, opens the cuticle allowing for deeper penetration into the hair shaft. After all of the foils have cooled, rinse hair with water as cool as you can tolerate, until it is close to clear. (Have some so spray bleach handy, to spray immediately on shower/tub walls and floor, to prevent staining.) Then wash hair in cool water, with a SULFATE FREE shampoo, and condition with a COLOR SAFE conditioner. Use a towel that you don't mind getting stained to dry hair. Blow hair dry.
I have used the RED color on my hair, which is thick and dark brown, and purple on my daughter's hair, that is fine and very light brown. I have had ZERO staining of my pillowcase, clothing, skin, etc., the same for my daughter. My hair has stayed vibrant red, and my daughter's dark purple, for 5 MONTHS. IF YOU USE THIS METHOD, IT WILL LAST.
We both wash our hair daily. I have tried Arctic Fox, Privana Vivids, and Ion, none work as well!

Comments about Splat Complete Color Kit:

So I decided on a whim to dye my ends bright red. I was sick of using permanent hair colors on my hair and not getting a bright red color. All of the permanent colors made my hair look orange and not red. So on my dyed red/brown/burgundy hair, I took the plunge.
I only used one box to do the ends, but to do an entire head of hair, I'd use 2 boxes unless your hair is short.

So I used the bleach as instructed and after essentially double processing my hair, my ends were a light/medium blonde. I could have gone for a triple but that would really do some major damage so I just stuck with a double process. The bleach and developer they include are good. Not as harsh as the kind you'd get from a salon bleaching, much gentler, but you CAN fry your hair with this so follow the instructions and dont leave the bleach on for longer than recommended. You can always double processs and condition inbetween, just dont leave the bleach on longer than recommended.
So after the bleaching comes the dyeing.
Now, when you go to dye your hair, protect EVERYTHING. Wear a button down shirt or cape that you dont care about. I use a stylist cape in order to protect my skin because one drip of this stuff can smear everywhere. Also, get a better pair of gloves. I double glove for dying red because this stuff WILL stain your skin and its very hard to get off. There are some color removing products that can work to get stains off just be VERY careful with this stufff. Use petroleum jelly around your face and ears so they dont turn bright red. Use foils if you are using this to do highlights. I do foils around the tips just to protect everything.
I left this product on for 2 hours to get as much color as possible. It is said if you do a full head of this to put your hair in a shower cap, old towel, and then a bandana to hold everything in place that you can do this overnight. I never found that long to be necessary, but 2 hours would be a good idea to be on the safe side.

Comments about Splat Complete Color Kit:

This was my first time dying my hair. The bleach that came with this product did my hair half and half even though it was drenched. The dye on the other hand did well in the bleached areas, but not the rest of the hair. A lot of my friends say this product does not last long at all. And I'm starting to see that anything wet that touches your hair pulls a lot of the dye out. It was fine for being my first go, but will probably use a different product next time.
