Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

I am very picky with curling iron. I avoided metal surface curling iron, they did great damaging to my long hair. I did shopped for best curling iron at other website, but end up returned it due to lack of curling power. Went in Ulta store and found this and tried it. I really like it and didn't give my hair ends frizz after curled it. My hair looks really good and I am satisfied with it. Here's some tips for you with this curling iron I purchased. Some people don't like how it made their hair smelled. I don't know if they spray hair protectation first? And I do not turn my curling iron to 450 degrees where it would make hair smell weird. I keep it at 430 degrees and it's perfect! With this, I can use it as a wand or clip curling iron! This is keeper! I like cool black and white design!

Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

I switched to this one from my old standby gold barrel hot tools curling iron. Thought it would be better for my dry, color treated hair. Sadly, it just doesn't curl my hair AT ALL, even at highest 400+ heat setting. So disappointed. Will be going back to the tried & true gold barrel!

Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

This is the second hot tool curling iron I buy. My first one lasted about 8 years. I'm not someone that really knows how to curl their hair but some how I haven't pretty good at using this size. I recently cut my hair and thought I should use a smaller one (1 3/4) but I just prefer the look of the 1 1/2 leaves.

Would not hold my curls and instantly drop. Easy to use, but my cheap curling iron does a better job. I have fine hair, but it's long and I have a lot of it.

We recommend the 1" barrel, which offers the most versatile styling. Ceramic produces far-infrared heat which is kinder to hair, seals the hair cuticle, and increases shine, so this will be ideal for you!

What's the difference between the nano ceramic and the gold plated professional one I'm trying to see which one I should buy

                    A:

The difference is the material of each -

CeramicTI Tourmaline (purple) - Ceramic Tourmaline surface with titanium additive emits gentle far-infrared heat and negative ions to increase hydration and shine while reducing frizz.

24K gold plated (gold) - Even heat distribution create long-lasting curls and waves leaving hair looking smooth and glossy.

NanoCeramic (black & white) - NanoCeramic barrel creates an ultra smooth surface for frizz-free styles.

That is correct, this tool is not dual voltage. This tool is designed to operate at US standard voltage 120V. Hot Tools does not advise to use it with a converter, as it may damage the tool.

                • Q:

I have long (to the middle of my back), thick, fine, wavy, color treated/damaged hair. Would the barrel be long enough for lose waves? Would you have a suggestion for a curling iron that would be perfect for me?
Asked on 5/5/2015 by Veronica from California

                  1 answer

                  • Staff Expert

                    A:

The NanoCeramic material of the barrel is ideal for color-treated, damaged, or over-processed hair. NanoCeramic means that there are finer particles of ceramic that are used in making the surface of the iron for a smoother surface that glides across hair more easily and heats more evenly. For long hair like yours, to create loose waves, we'd suggest using either the 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" barrel size.
