hi i just bought this prouct this is my 4 straightener , i had the chi hot tools and baby bliss. I do like some of the pro's about the sedu. I got the 1.5 inch and i have a lot of hair it goes through my hair but my hair seems to feel dry after. i dont know if i should get the other sedu or stick with this one and keep trying it. I didnt get a heat pouch. i cant decide what heat procter to use i do have the got 2b guardian angel and it leaves my hair dry .

I love how fast it heats up and the multiple temperture settings. Makes my hair silky soft and adds shine.

I have had many flat irons in my life, along with the Hai straightener, this product is one of the last ones I would recommend. Very damaging!

I had a Chi which I loved until it died after 6 years. I did a lot of research and compared all the brands. The temperature was a big selling point. This iron goes up to 450 and has various settings. So you can adjust dependant upon what style, bleach, color, etc... you do with your hair. The others just heat up to 365-390. It's one pass and is just brilliant. I used a friends GHD and thought that was the route I wanted to take but I am so glad I went with the adjustable setting and high heat. My hair glides through it. This product would be perfect if it had an auto shut off.

First off I am African American and have natural, unprocessed hair with a very tight coil pattern. I've used many flat irons in the past, but most recently I had a Chi and a Hot Tools 1" flat iron. The Hot Tools took about 1-2hrs to straighten my hair, it didn't do a good job and my hair smelled burnt (even though I had applied thermal flat iron protector) after using. My Chi had broke after a few years, but it had always left my hair hard and smelling burnt. I finally decided to go online and do my homework. After all my research I decided to try the Sedu. It was very pricey for my budget, but I wanted something that would work. Boy oh boy does it work. It heated up fast, it was really smooth gliding through my hair, for the most part I only had to make one pass through and it was smooth. There were a few sections of my hair were I had to pass through twice, but never more than that. Not once did I ever get that burnt hair smell and what usually took me 1-2 hours, was cut down to 30 minutes. My hair was sooooo shiney and soft. Every where I went I was getting compliments and it wasn't even styled. I've been telling friends and family about this product. Yes it is pricey, but it is well worth. If worse comes to worse just wait for a good coupon.

I have had this flat iron for a year and I have been absolutely in love with it. No other flat iron can compare. It can be used for both straightening and curling. Unfortunately, one of the plates has stopped heating up and considering the price, I never expected that it would go out so quickly. I did not keep the receipt (stupid me for thinking I was paying for quality) so I am unable to return it to Ulta or Sedu even though I am still under warranty.

Very disappointed. I will not be buying this product again.

I purchased my original Sedu a little over 2 years ago. In those 2 years I have had 2, yes 2, replacements. Same issue every time: one of the plates would stop getting hot. My 2nd replacement just went out, and I am 43 days past my original 2 warranty. Despite only having my current iron for only 6 months, Ulta denied another replacement.

I really want to love this flat iron because when it works, it works! My hair gets straight so quick, and it stays straight all day. I have used other brands in the past, and while they didnt get my hair quite as straight and shiny, they lasted me 5-6 years. For the price tag on the Sedu, I expect it to last just as long. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing another one.
