This product is incredible. I've tried what seems like millions of products that promise to help tame my crazy, curly hair but none worked - until I found the Deva Curl products.

There is a particular method to using the Deva Curl products. I was skeptical and didn't think it would really matter how the products were used. I was wrong. It really makes a difference. Before you toss these products out, make sure you're using them right. I found it makes a big difference.

As for the reviewers who complain that the cleanser doesn't lather: it isn't supposed to lather. The ingredients that make shampoo foamy just strip away oil and damage hair, and don't even have any cleansing properties. Deva Curl cleanser doesn't have these sulfates, so it is better for hair but still cleanses it. I've never felt like my hair was still dirty after using the Deva Curl line.

Personally, I love how the products smell. I think they are fresh and not overwhelming - kind of citrusy (depending on which product you're using).

Bottom line: this product works better than any other hair cleanser or conditioner I have found. The gel is great, too. I would use this for the rest of my life if I could afford it.

This does take a few tries to get used to - as you don't have a lot of soapy bubbly lather but smooth creamy conditioner. I like this for my medium curly hair. It works whether I keep my hair in it's curly state or blow it out smooth. The leave in conditioner spray and curl gel work nice and have a pleasant herbal-sweet smell.

I have curly, very thick hair. My hair is not oily, so I do not shampoo everyday. I had heard from other curly haired girls either via word of mouth or through reviews that they loved the Devacurl products and that it has done wonders for their curls. I eagerly bought the trial pack thinking that this might solve all my curly hair problems. The first time I used it, my curls were very curly, but my hair seemed frizzy and somewhat dry. I chalked it up to needing to put some leave in conditioner in after the next wash. The next time I washed my hair, it came out even dryer and frizzier. I tried putting leave in conditioner to help out. When that didn't work I also put some hair oil and finally ended with trying to put lotion on my hair to calm the frizzies. Even with all those products, my hair still appeared dry and frizzy. When I looked in the mirror I also noticed some red blotches appearing right below my hair line. Obviously I was alarmed that I was getting a rash from the products so my hubby and I looked at the ingredients and decided that the alcohol and other ingredients like wheat product and citrus acid were drying out my hair and creating a slight irritation on my skin. I really hoped that this was going to be my hair miracle, but I think I will stick to my old favorites Bumble and Bumble Gentle Shampoo, Moisture Rich Conditioner, Oribe hydrating leave-in conditioner, and ABBA curl cream.

I am Latina and have long thick wavy hair.
DevaCurl did leave my curls soft but my hair felt dirty. After a few hours my scalp would feel greasy. The shampoo & conditioner does not lather at all and both smell awful.
The styling gel is great and actually smells good.
The spray did not add any shine or revitalize my curls so I do not understand its purpose.

Follow the instructions for step by step hair care. Hair instantly felt smoother, had moisture.

Downsides? I don't like the smell. I mean I really don't like the smell. My scalp feels clean, but my hair feels like there is product in my hair instead of the clean, smooth, healthy feel I'm looking for.

I followed the directions, and on the first day it seemed fine. After repeated uses, my hair became stringy and felt a bit dirty. I liked being able to purchase a travel kit with all the components in it so I could try it without investing in large bottles.

I am a white woman/mother with a mixed child. I have spent hundreds of dollars on products for my daughters hair which is very curly and very very thick. Her hair is beautiful but it has been very difficult to find a product that will tame her hair all day. When visiting the ULTA store one of the stylists recommended this product. I bought this trial pack and feel in love. I went back a week later and bought big bottles of the entire product line. When using these products her hair is perfect all day long!!! I strongly recommend this product for anyone with very curly very thick hair!!!!!

I used all the products per the directions. I loved the gel. Left my hair feeling soft after I let my hair air dry with only the gel on it. Then per the directions scrunch hair and my hair was soft. Things I liked least was that poo and one conditioner left my hair feeling heavy and not clean. I used my normal shampoo and conditioner with the just the gel and had better results. My thoughts are the gel is worth the money but leave the rest of the products on the shelf.

I am in Virginia and have been waiting for this product to arrive since December. I had heard a lot of good things about it in the salon world. I have very curly hair but as I have aged the texture the curl has changed for the worse. The hair strands use to be thicker as well as the hair was curlier, I have lost manageability, and there is no shine. I thought all of this was the normal process as you age. This product is absolutely wonderful. It has given life back to my hair. My hair and curls are in heaven. And if possible I am in love with my hair again.

Bought the travel pack because I wanted to try the this line before buying the full size. Loved it and went back and bought full sizes of the shampoo and conditionner. Liked the the lightweight gel as well. Not sure about the spray on frizz fighter.
