I recently dyed my hair from Blonde to an auburn color (at a salon, not by myself). I bought this at Ulta when going to buy color care shampoo and conditioner. My main concern was that it would turn my hair a fiery red color. I read the reviews before using and I'm glad I did. I made sure to put it in my hair before washing out my shampoo (which is actually what the directions tell you to do). People noticed that my hair was a bit more red the next day. I am considering also using the brunette glaze since my hair will be fading back into blonde. The smell and consistency of the product (it is very runny) aren't great but it works so, so what. THis product was advertised to brighten and shine hair. It did the opposite. Made my hair very dry and dull, which it never is! It's also very messy to use, and the color goes running down your body and splashes onto the tile and grout in the shower. Cleanup is difficult and time consuming. It also stained my towel and pillowcases. I bought 2 tubes and want to return them.

This product is great. I am a natural redhead, and my hair has been fading over the last year or so to the point where I became more of a strawberry blonde. This product put my hair right back to the color that it used to be. It did make my hair darker (which was exactly what I was hoping), so that's something to consider if you have light-colored hair and want it to remain light. I'm not crazy about the smell, but it's worth the results. I bought this on sale, which was a great way to try the product, but in my opinion, it's worth the full price.

I have yet to find any other red glazes out there which is why I keep using this one. It does enhance my red (I'm a natural dirty blonde gone deep red, not brownish red, RED). To avoid going to the salon every 4 weeks I use this. I would love the product if, it wasn't so runny, it's the consistency of water so it's very hard to apply without getting everywhere. My bigger issue though is the build up it leaves on my hair, which I hate. So yes it makes your hair red but it will also leave it with a weird texture due to build up.

This red glaze is great at keeping my red last longer and keeping my trips to the salon down. It is relatively inexpensive compared to having to go get color or a toner applied at the salon. I just wish it smelled better.

First off, I have very long and thick naturally light blonde hair that has neutral and golden tones and holds red pigment very well. I was looking for an easy way to go strawberry blonde, and I do believe I have found it in this product. I am not disappointed in this product and can only conclude that most of the reviewers here overexaggerate and aren't careful. The only thing that made my experience with this product difficult was reading reviews here first. The product IS NOT the consistency of water like so many of you have said, though it IS far from a gel and could definitely be a lot thicker (don't open the bottle if it's pointed down - it'll come right out). I read some reviews here that suggested to mix it with conditioner so it is easier to apply - DO NOT do this! The two do not mix well and end up making red globs that don't spread easily, making it impossible to use on your hair. I ended up wasting a lot of product at first because I tried this so don't bother. Application was NOT AS HARD as most of you said. I followed the directions - I lathered up my hair well with shampoo first, added the red to the lather, lathered some more, waited five minutes, rinsed - perfect! Seriously, the hardest part about the application process is guessing how much to use and, in my case because of my amount of hair, making sure you get every bit of your hair. If you're being moderately careful, it shouldn't get all over your bathroom, and any splashes I did have I just EASILY wiped off with a wet hand - didn't have any problems with my skin or bathroom staining AT ALL. If you're staining your clothes or towels then you're not rinsing it out completely (it rinses out easily if it's added to your shampoo lather like it's supposed to). Second of all, I swear that those of you who are complaining about it leaving a greasy feeling are using the product after you've rinsed your shampoo lather out, or maybe you're not using enough shampoo in the first place? My hair feels perfectly soft and silky...The smell didn't bother me AT ALL. Seriously. It doesn't smell nice but it's not strong or horrible. There's zero chance of the smell lingering in your hair if you condition afterward too, which I did. I went in expecting a challenge, and I really just didn't have any of the problems so many of you seemed to have AT ALL. So if the bad reviews are scaring you off of this product like they almost did me, just ignore them and go for this great product! My blonde hair didn't turn out orangey but just has this wonderful caramely tone to it now - I can tell if I use it again next time I shampoo that it will be even more strawberry blonde! My main complaint is that I wished it left a stronger color. I may try leaving it in for longer next time.
