I don't have severely yellow nails, just slightly yellow. I always use a base coat but found the continual use of nail polish can still leave your nails slightly yellow. This product goes on really easy and dries within seconds. I don't think this would be a miracle cure for those with extremely yellow nails. I use it as part of my nail care regimen, after I clean my nails with a home remedy solution. It does not go on like a shiney top coat nor did I expect it to, because it doesn't look like or say it is a nail polish. It leaves a nice subtle sheen and a brightness that is NATURAL and FRESH. If you do not always want a high gloss top coat this is a good product to wear alone just remember to re apply every other day but, you can also use it under your nail polish and base coat to maintain your natural nail.

I didn't care for this product at all.
I didn't see any difference immediately after using the pen. Couple of days later, the white of my nails yellowed.

I have used Essie products for years and have loved each and every item ever purchased. I tried this because I had a little bit of yellowing on my nails and have been curious about this pen. The pen was easy to use but I did not notice any improvement or any change in the yellowness of my nails. It did give my nails a little sheen but that was all it did. I did have very minimal yellowing so maybe they were not yellow enough for me to notice any changes. I will try this again though if I have more serious discoloration ever.
