Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I have naturally medium brown hair and attempted to go a bit redder using a box dye. It turned out bright punk red which is what I didn't want to happen. So I began researching ways to get this horrid mistake out of my hair and came across Color Oops. The lady at the counter did warn me that my hair color would not return to my natural hair, but at this point I was desperate. I went home and immediately put this product to use. When I got out of the shower and dried my hair, it was a sort of honey color that I kind of enjoy. It's not what I wanted but I'm getting used to it.
The biggest downside to this product though is the smell. Other reviewers have commented on it, but they are right. It has not left my hair, and even though it's only been three days since I've used it, I've shampooed at least 20 times and still smell it when I shower (I've also cleaned my bathroom twice since that day). But other than that, I think this product works best for blondes, or those who's hair color turned out darker than they wanted. Good luck!

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I was disappointed that it didn't fully remove all the color. The box shows quite exactly what my hair should have been (I was blonde, dyed it dark red, and wanted to get back to blonde), but only ended up getting to an orange-brassy light red. It wasn't a bad color, but it wasn't what my original color was.

The smell isn't that horrible, like a citrus-sulphur, but the worst part was even after washing my hair 6 times with shampoo and then using a strong conditioner, my hair still smelled STRONGLY of the product. I also cannot imagine what the Extra Strength would have done to my hair because even though this was the Extra Conditioning, my hair was incredibly dry afterward.

The only perk, for me, was that it did help lighten so when I ultimately ended up bleaching my hair to get it back to blonde, it didn't have to process nearly as long.

I dyed my hair black and I'm naturally a medium brown and I didn't like the way it looked so I tried color oops and even talked to a lady at ulta and she told me that it will return my hair to its natural color and it turned my hair orange!!! I followed all the instructions too. Also the smell is incredibly awful and stayed in my bathroom for a week! Do not waste your money on this product!

I am the one who 's coloring her hair almost every 3 weeks since I was 28, because divorce brought me grey hair:) Naturally I am blond. In time I tried a lot of different colors, but always returned to L'Oreal 9GR, the golden reddish blonde. But from time to time I try new colors. My hair is still in a good shape, even if color it so often. I hate grey hair!!! In December I thought that I need a change of look (bad idea) and I colored my hair brownish. It came out way to dark for my white skin. I looked jut awful. 10 years older than I am. I started to read review after review and after 2 days I went to store having in mind to buy L'Oreal... but I went out with 3 Color Oops Conditioning! Yes, I bought 3, my hair is very long and I have a lot:) I used all 3 of them, following the instructions and the result was very satisfying! It didn't turned out to be my reddish blonde, but light blonde. I will wait a few weeks to color it back. My hair looks shiny and healthy!

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I have short hair, so thought I could get away with just dying my whole head without just doing the roots. WRONG. I dyed my hair a medium brown- but the tips looked almost black! Color Oops removed all of the dye from my hair, restoring it to my natural color! I was worried I would end up with a bunch of greys showing, but oddly enough, there is still a tint of brown on the greys, so thats not even an issue. I love this product, and would highly recommend!

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

So I had dyed my natural lightish dark brown hair jet black. I just wanted to see what I would look like, and I didn't like it from the moment i saw it. I dyed it in November, and it was January 1st when I decided to remove the black from my hair. (Revlon colorsilk dye worked great, by the way, I just don't match the black) So, I performed the steps correctly and went to bed with my hair still wet, because I was tired after a long day. Just woke up, and my hair was back to its brown color. :) I guess my hair is a little thick, so another box could help it lighten further, but I'm pretty okay with how it is now. If you have thick, long hair, you'll probably need two boxes. Yes it smells awful, but it goes away after washing . It's easy as dying your hair. So don't fret ladies, it works.

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

This product is a miracle in a box! I have light blonde hair to my waist. A few weeks ago my teenagers talked me into adding red to the underside of my hair. The red was more then I expected. It was Strawberry Shortcake red! Each time I washed my hair, the red was pulling out (I could see it in the water) and my blonde was starting to look pink. I was traumatized. I was ready to cut my hair short to make it look less obvious. I have gone all red before and loved it, just not this shade of red. I know from past experience that red is the hardest color to keep in and the hardest to get out. Feeling like I could not look at this horrible red/pink/orange color anymore I did one last search. Google friends mentioned Color Oops. I decided to give it a shot. WOW. It pulled ALL of the red out very quickly and with 1 application. My hair does not feel crispy or destroyed. I am so excited! The only con - if all of my hair would of been red it would of taken at least 3 boxes. Seems like 1 box didn't have much.

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

When I first started experimenting with dying my hair at home in high school this was a true lifesaver on more than one occasion. It didn't take much to go from a deep purple back to a light color so you could start all over again. It gave you a chance to do something crazy and have no regrets.

That was ten years ago though. Recently I got a killer coupon for an at home dye that I've never tried before so I figured why not? Bad idea! I immediately went to get this. Worse idea!

Now used to be that you could just mix this stuff together, put it in your hair like a dye, let it go until you saw your hair turn a straw yellow, rinse, and redye. Not anymore. Now you have to rinse and reapply, rinse and reapply, etc. I have chin-shoulder length hair and I needed TWO bottles! Never needed two bottles before even with long hair! Then even after all of that it still didn't get the color out! My roots turned yellow but the ends of my hair were still brown. Worse of all, it took me a couple hours just to get to that!

After I got it all out, my hair was fried. I slept with a hair masque in and the next morning my hair was still fried. I was too afraid to dye it again out of fear that my hair would fall out. It took three nights of sleeping in a hair masque to get my hair back in order. In the mean time I was happy it was winter and I could wear a hat whenever I went out.

The final insult was when I redyed my hair it turned black! I remembered to use a light color so I went with a very light brown, almost dirty blonde. How did that happen?! I do not have natural black hair!

I'm not sure what they've changed over the last 10 years but this product is junk now.
