Everything was fine but the product was way too weak. I know this product is "extra condition" but it barely worked. I had a pink/red color on my hair, waited extra long (twice the time), but didn't do a thing. Next time, I will try "extra strength." I'm sure it will be great.

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

This product did the trick!!! It is excellent. I put some coloring on my goatee, my side burns and bangs to get the grey out. Not only did the grey disappear, but it turned my hair a much darker color. I shaved my goatee but had to leave the color in my sideburns and bangs.

I looked like an old man cast member from the Sopranos - only without the members only jacket. It looked horrible, and people at work looked at me like I had multiple heads!! So I purchased Color Oops and tried it out - first on the side of my head then all over. it looks great - it evened it all out and brought out blond/red highlights. I look normal again!!!! A great product for getting rid of the too dark look. I would definitely recommend!!! And the smell is not that bad and goes away after a few hours.

I saw great reviews on this product so i decided to give it a try. My natural hair color is black, but i dye my hair auburn/red. I got tired of the color so decided to go back to natural black. Well Color Oops decided that my "natural" hair color was going to be light brown?! I followed the directions precisely so I don't know what went wrong?

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I have a natural dirty blond hair and decided to try some kind of dark red/brown. It came out the color I was looking for, only very purple. It didn't suit my skin color at all. Naturally, being in high school, I needed it out before Monday. It was a little thin and smelly, but after rinsing the recommended time and everything, I took a blow dryer to my hair and was pleased with the results. The color is not what my hair originally was, but it is pretty close. Definitely not orange. Definitely not a bad color. I would use this again with another bad dye job (though I hope I don't have to!)

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I'm a natural redhead/strawberry blonde and I used this when I dyed my hair unbleached using Ion Color Brilliance in purple and the bottom aqua with the same brand. I was expecting my hair to be light enough to show a vibrant purple but it was super dark and really harsh against my complexion. The blue turned into a sickly teal color and did not like that as well.

So I went and bought this in hopes of completely stripping all of the color, and used 2 full bottles since my hair is extremely coarse and also long. The smell is god awful, but you'll get used to it.

Right after rinsing and conditioning for 20 minutes after, I dried my hair and it got all of the purple out, but not any of the blue. So as the final result, I'm left with my natural color on top with a faded teal obmre.

The only thing I wish about this product is that it would also strip unnatural looking semi-permanent colors. I did not know until after applying this product in my hair that IT DOES NOT WORK ON UNNATURAL COLORS [Manic Panic, Splat! etc.]. It just would have been nice if it stated that clearly on the package. I guess I was lucky when it took off all the purple!

If you have unnatural colored hair, it may or may not work, depending on what color you dyed your hair. Speaking from my experience, it works on deep purples. Other than that, it's back to the dandruff shampoo and baking soda!

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

After months on months of wanting to try this to remove my dyed jet-black hair (I'm naturally a dark dirty blonde, but I've been dying my hair off and on since elementary school and I'm now in high school), I finally decided to brave it. I followed the directions (at first) completely and utterly religiously. And after I followed all directions of applying/washing/rinsing it took all of the black out of my hair and left it a light brown/auburn color that was actually pretty and not as horrendous as I expected it to be. But, I decided that the color was kind of boring (I'm a color junkie and I love dying my hair, and dull colors dissatisfy me and I get bored quickly) so I decided the next day I'd pick up some red dye and dye over it. What happens back was probably some of my fault, but also Color Oops! fault for not clearly stating it. The next day I noticed my hair was a little darker, but was still pretty and looked normal and healthy, so I went to the drugstore and picked up some red dye that coordinated and would dye over my Color Oops! color. This part was probably my fault, but because I read the instructions completely and clearly along with many reviews yesterday, I didn't think about quickly reviewing the instructions and just applied the red dye all over and left it in for 20 minutes. After I rinsed out the dye, I dried my hair only to find my hair actually went BACK to the exact black I had it before, this time even darker, and the only place the red I used peaked out was at my roots. I was heartbroken and distressed. It makes me upset that I spent that money on the Color Oops! and the red dye only to have my hair go back to black. And now I have actually forced myself to go out and buy two more boxes, and I plan on stripping this black out of my hair once more and just keeping it the auburn color it was before I tried to redye it. I am still hesitant to put this back in my hair because I feel like it won't have the same pretty color outcome or it'll damage it, but it is clear to me that whether or not I use the 2 boxes I bought tomorrow or return them and dealing with black hair, I am positive next time I want to take a color out, I will break down and go to the salon. (This outcome might have turned out bad because I put it in for too long, but regardless I feel this brand is at fault a bit and should have clearly stated that you shouldn't apply dye the full time after applying Color Oops!, if that is indeed why my hair is back to black instead of red.)

Just dyed my hair (by accident)a brownish/gray when using ash brown on top of blonde (highlighted blonde). Oops took out the horrible color and left me with a different, but nice blonde and kept my natural gray covered. I used a super heavy conditioner afterwards & left it on for 20 min. My hair is soft and doesn't look overworked! Wish this stuff was around 40 years ago!

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

This is my second time using Color Oops (since 3 years ago or so) and I recommend this product to EVERYONE! Its a lifesaver :)

My hair is naturally strawberry blonde, but its been through every color on the planet. Most recently, my hair suffered a bad dye job (i knew better, but went against my better judgement and allowed a friend to pick my boxed dye colour :/)

My hair WAS a heinous shade of bright red at the roots and dull mousey brown throughout the rest... It looked so bad even my husband commented on how bad it looked and he neevr notices anything...

So I used Colour Oops as directed and rinsed for 20 minutes followed by a deep condition. I blow dryed my hair and its a lovely EVEN strawberry blonde. Its kind of flat, but nothing a little demi permanent dye wont fix :) Just gotta add that shimmer... Other than that its a liveable tone and certainly beats my previous shade.

NOTE: I have read of a lot of people complaining that it didn't work and that their hair is naturally black and this product turned them orange... This product SPECIFICALLY states that it WILL NOT reverse any lightening... This product only works for people whose hair is TOO DARK or off tone from dyeing. It will not fix a bad bleach job or correct lifted hair- other than even out the tone. Read the box people.

It works! I've used it twice now (sparingly of course) and had family members use it and love it. It sure beats a $400 color correction at the salon!

            A++

This product will definitely get the dark color out of your hair. My hair turned black after dying it medium brown. Used Color Oops and it took all the black out. However, my hair turned really light after this. Pretty much an orange color. I had to re-dye it another color after in order for it to look normal.
It also does smell really bad but I put this good smelling conditioner in my hair that helped take out the bad smell.
