I like the product itself, but I don't think I'll be repurchasing because the smell was so BAD. I'm really good with hair dye smells but this smells absolutely awful. I was gagging the whole time and had to keep sticking my head out the window :(

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

Every few years I do it... I try to dye my Blonde hair myself. And everytime it ends up being a disaster! Why do I do this I don't know I guess like everyone I'm trying to save $$. In this case I used a Garnier Olia light Blonde color which turned my roots orange and over processed my lighter Blonde hair and turned it a lavendar color. I then tried to correct my boo boo with another box of color this time a Golden Blonde which made my roots even more orange and did nothing for the lavendar color. My next wonderful idea was to tone my hair to get rid of the orange roots but this time all my hair turned to a gray-ish lavendar shade! Humilating yes... So finally as a last ditch effort before throwing in the towel and paying a stylist to fix my hair color I decided to try this product. Man am I glad I did! It not only removed the lavendar color left behind but it lightend my hair enough back into a golden Blonde shade (no more orange roots) that I was able to STOP the insanity and just leave it be. So thank you for making a product that works as it should!

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I had dyed my hair a jet black color a few months back, and was tired of it, and ready for a change to red. At first, I tried lightining my hair to a blonde color so the red would stick. Instead the result was only effective on my roots and the remaning hair stayed black. I tried a second time with a different color and still didn't work. My thin hair was pretty damaged so I was hesitant on trying the Color Oops. This product worked wonders! I did 1 kit of the extra strength on my hair, and it came out a beautiful brownish red. Yes, it is time consuming but it's a small price to pay when you get results like these. My hair felt very healthy and strong. I would definitely recommend this to everybody who wants a easier, healthy way to lighten their hair!

Best product I have used to get ugly hair dye out. CAUSED NO DAMAGE TO MY HAIR, which makes me extremely happy. The only downfall on this product is having to rinse out hair for more than 20 minutes, otherwise this product is amazing.

Worked great. Got some unexpected color added to my hair and scalp from my barber to cover up some thinning. Didn't like it - picked this up to right away out of embarrassment.

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

My hair has been black or dark brown for years. I decided to go back to my lighter soft brown shade, and this product does exactly what it advertises. It removed all the black from my hair, and I didn't end up looking like a leopard like other products I have tried. I was hesitant bc of my previous experiences, but this did the trick. Yes, the smell is funky, but for good hair I'll deal with it. It will NOT bring you back to your original color, and I don't suggest this if that is what you are doing. You would definitely need to put a color on your hair bc it does leave a somewhat copper tint. However, this did exactly what it says and I am very pleased with the results. I highly recommend if you are trying to ditch the dark. The twenty minute washout was the only thing that was aggrevating, but color will not stick if you don't do it.

When I had my hair dyed purple the lady mixed blue and red together. This product is the worst thing I used on my hair. Not only did the purple stay but it brought out RED AND BLUE! NEVER USING AGAIN!

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

Being a cosmetology student I was hesitant to use a box hair color remover but I was desperate. I just got done with school and hadn't gotten my license yet so I couldn't buy the salon quality products. I really was done with my black hair and wanted to go lighter now that spring is coming. I decided to give this a try after I saw all the good reviews and I was surprised how well it worked! It turned my jet black hair into a 6k (light copper brown). I did have some darker spots on my ends but I believe it will come out the second time I color remove it which you usually have to with black color. The reason the color remover smells is cause the sulfur. All color removers smell like that. This one was WAY less strong smelling then the ones I've used at school. Usually I have to wash my hair multiple days to get the smell out and this vanished after doing the 20 min rinsing.
Tips if your going to use this:
              1. I would mix the two bottles together and then apply them with s bowl and brush! Since this product is so liquid its hard to apply with a bottle without making a mess.
              2. To keep your head warm drape a towel over your head after you put on your processing cap while you process.
              3. Apply to your ends first then your roots. Your ends have more color build up and need to process longer then your roots.
              4. If your hair is black you might need to color remove it twice.
              5. This will not make your hair turn back to it's natural shade! So your hair might turn to blonde or even red after this if you used a high volume developer when you colored your hair previously.
              6. You probably will need to color your hair after this and if you do pick a color one shade or even two shades lighter then what you want. Your hair will be very porous after this and will end up darker.

Needless to say I was very impressed for being a drug store color remover.

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I recently decided I wanted to revert back to my natural hair color, which is a dark ash blonde. I've been dying my hair a dark brown for the past 5 years so I thought this would be my best option to get started on my hair color journey. I thought it would just be like coloring your hair but it's a little different. The product itself is runny, messy and extremely smelly so you have to work fast then after you wait the 20 minutes, you have to rinse your hair for 25 MINUTES so prepare to do some shower singing and to run out of hot water. After I shampoo'd twice and conditioned, I dried my hair and I was super nervous my hair would look a discolored mess but I was very pleased with the outcome. The smell does linger in your hair afterwards but it's something you can get over. This product does what it is intended for.
