Does the job of defining curls! Remember to follow directions and scrunch (don't separate!) hair by tipping head over. You can scrunch again a little after tipping hair back over but not much is needed. I scrunch again as hair is drying but really.. leave your hair alone until dried, then separate the curls a little- Poof! You're done!

I put this on my hair when it is wet, scrunch it through, then let it dry naturally. Once dry I just scrunch through with my fingers and I have beautiful frizz free curls. :) The scent is light and hold through the day. The only drawback is that it can make your hair feel a little dry. I haven't noticed any damage to my hair and my hairdresser said my hair was healthy even after 2 months of using this product. Here's hoping that it holds up the heat and humidity of NC this summer!!

My 16 year old daughter has VERY thick, curly, frizzy hair. This is the only product we buy for her. It makes her curls very defined and soft, as well as controls the frizz. She is a runner so her hair tends to get frizzy after her practices and DevaCurl products have been amazing!! Would definitely recommend! She does use the product with a little bit of anti-frizz serum and the DevaCurl one condition.

Love this product. I have hair that can get straight easily or be curly, and this product keeps the curls in for a couple days and works really well. I just dampen my hair in the morning and put some of this gel in it and diffuse-blow dry it. You can also let it sit and dry naturally as well if you have the time. I was getting the product thru my hairdresser and she charged 10 bucks more. So happy to see Ulta carries it!

I saw a lot of beauty gurus on YouTube (with curly hair) talk about devacurl and how they are doing the curly girl method and that these products really helped define their curls. Even though i never saw one specifically on this gel when i walked into Ulta and saw this i decided to purchase the mini just try it out. I am so happy i took a chance on this. I have curly hair that doesnt alway agree with me. I have been trying all kinds of gels and creams that could help define and control my hair. (Mainly drugstore but some other higher end ones) This gel defined all my curls and it held all day. I have curls that tend to not curl like they used to and my hair is pretty thick (which also causes other products to wear off) but this lasted all day. There was very little frizz (which is a MIRACLE) and it wasn't a heavy gel or anything to thick. It does work great on its own (i tried the hairspray along with it and it gave me a little crunch). I went back today and noticed the Ultra Defining Gel and since I like more defined curls i decided to big up the bigger bottle in that one instead but htis gel is still a great gel!
