Comments about Hot Tools Tourmaline IONIC Professional Dryer:

The product seems fine. It dries my hair. My cheap Conair also dried my hair. The Hot Tools is a little more forceful; therefore it may dry my hair faster, I'm not sure. This is the first time I have spent this much money on a hair dryer. I'm not sure that it's worth as much as I paid, but I doubt that the other expensive dryers are worth what they ask either. It has not changed the look, texture, or anything else about my hair. I guess with all the hype, I was hoping it was going to add shine and manageability ..... wrong. However, there is nothing wrong with it either, it works as a hair dryer. I think we all expect too much from our "beauty" accessories. They are not going to make you beautiful. Only your smile and personality can do that, as I'm finally starting to learn.

Comments about Hot Tools Tourmaline IONIC Professional Dryer:

This was my second Hot Tools hair dryer in 3 years, they both ended the same way. Towards the end it sounded like a chain saw, tried cleaning out the vent, didn't help, then just stopped working all together. I thought it would last since the curling irons I've had for 5+years, but extremely disappointed in the dryers. Definitely not purchasing another dryer.

Comments about Hot Tools Tourmaline IONIC Professional Dryer:

This is a great hairdryer for the price. It gives my former $200 Italian made blowdryer a run for its money. It is SUPER lightweight (no sore arms!) and evenly distributes a great deal of heat. It leaves my hair silky smooth with little to no frizz. My only complaint is the control button positioning. I wish the buttons were located on the outside of the handle rather than the inside so that they can't be accidentally tampered with when in use. Aside from that minor detail, I am extremely pleased with this product and look forward to future use.

I love this hair dryer! The only thing I really don't like is that when you add an attachment, it completely scrapes up the end of the dryer when you go to take it off. Other than that, I use it every day without any problems.

Whenever I go to the salon my hair looks so soft and silky after, but after I blow dry my hair my hair has a weird texture, is frizzy and is poofy. Would this hair dryer help me? Any other suggestions? My hair is short thick a little wavy and has a little coarser texture.

This professional dryer weighs 15 oz., which is less than one pound and qualifies the dryer as lightweight. It does come with the "comb" or "pik" (as the 2.5" spikes are called) that you can use as an attachment for additional styling options. We hope this info helps! :-)

                      A:

This dryer does not have any ceramic material in it.

What having ceramic does in a dryer is generate far infrared heat that can be gentler on one's hair. However, the most important feature is that the dryer be ionic and generate negative ions that aid in the drying of the hair. A short time to dry one's hair means that there is less time that one's hair is having hot air blowing on it and essentially drying it out.

All Hot Tools Professional hair dryers contain an Ionic generator that will create this effect and keep the hair retaining its own natural moisture. The introduction of ion was a huge technological improvement in hair drying!
