Still figuring it out...

Pros

  • Helps Decrease Frizz
  • Makes Hair Shiny And Soft

Cons

  • Doesn't Grab Hair Easily

Best Uses

  • Thicker Hair

Comments about Chi Turbo Round Boar Brush:

I was looking for a new barrel brush and thought I'd try a boar bristled one. While I have instantly observed my hair become more shiny and smooth, I think the bristles might be better in a paddle brush. They don't grab my hair for me to separate parts when blow drying as easily as my previous Olivia Garden one. Perhaps I need more time with it to develop my technique, but I definitely recommend using boar bristles...just not necessarily as a barrel brush.

Comments about Chi Turbo Round Boar Brush:

I like this brush. It's sturdy, yet not harsh on my hair. I wear a lot of hairspray, so it helps get through the spray and knots. I've been looking for a brush like this and I'm very happy with it.

Comments about Chi Turbo Round Boar Brush:

This was a waste of my money. The bristles make my frizzy-prone curly hair even more frizzier, especially at the ends. I also had a yanking war with this thing as the handle of the brush has a silver piece where it meets the base that causes your hair to get trapped and yanked. Stay away!

Comments about Chi Turbo Round Boar Brush:

I use this brush for my blowouts - it's amazing. I never thought my thick, curly and frizzy hair could look this good.

Few personal complaints - the handle is one of those "no slip grip" models which is perfect for tension during the blowout but sometimes my hair gets stuck in it. ouch!

After using the brush for awhile the bristles started to fall out. I asked someone at ulta about it and she said she had never heard of that happening - probably a fluke.

overall I love the brush and won't ever switch!

Comments about Chi Turbo Round Boar Brush:

I purchased this product because I am a fan of Chi products, but with one use this brush started falling apart. I have very curly hair. At first the bristles were coming off of the brush and I thought it was because it was a new brush. By the time I was done with it, half of the bristles were on the floor and the brush itself was melting. I was told that the blow dryer may have been too hot, but it was a Chi blow dryer!

I never realized how important having the right brush could make, for blowouts. I went through three different brushes before my stylist recommended the brush that she personally uses. My first attempt using this brush was very easy. My hair never tangled up in the brush. The end result? My hair was smooth and silky. On a rating scale of 1 to 10, I rate this brush the 10+.

I have naturally curly, coarse, shoulder length hair and am wanting to go with a straight style for awhile. Would the round Boar Brush be best to blow my curls out? I was thinking the medium size?

I have curly, fine, long hair. I've been trying to figure out what is the best kind/brand of hair brush or comb for my hair? In most health and beauty magazines they say boar bristle brushes. Most of the brushes look like they would tangle my hair??

                        A:

Due to the type and texture of your hair, we recommend to use a ceramic brush with nylon bristles rather than one with boar bristles. The boar bristles may tangle your hair and/or give you a straight result of a style with no body or volume. The boar bristle is most popular among stylists because it creates smoother looks and may give a longer lasting blowout. It really depends on what you want your finished style to be.

The best round brush to use for your particular hair type and texture would be a ceramic nylon bristle brush like CHI Turbo Round Nylon Brush. These will also give you a smooth and shiny look but with added volume:

For long hair, we suggest the largest size brush: Large (1-1/2").
