This fake bake seemed to get alot of bad reviews compared to the flawless fake bake. But Ulta was out of flawless so I decided to give this a try despite the reviews. So glad I did! Application is a pain but just work fast and dont use too much at a time. A small dab goes quite a way and dont try to hard to rub it in. I looked like a hot streak mess but after a shower the streaks in the color guide wash off and it was even and natural brown underneath.Definitely no orange or yellowish tone. Best color froma tanner. Wouldnt exactly call it xtreme though Itll take 2 or 3 applications to get it dark. But I like to be really dark.For just a base with some color one application would be enough..

I typically don't like self-tanning products that use a color guide when applying. I am experienced enough at applying self tanner to know when I've missed an area or not, however I purchased this tanner knowing it had the color guide. I like the fact the gel dried very quickly! It was good because I go to bed immediately after and don't have to stand around to wait for the product to dry. Even after dry, the product was a little sticky to my pajamas. Upon washing off the color guide in the morning, I had a beautiful tan! Looked great, like I was someplace tropical! The tanning gel delivered nice rich color with one application as the package said and does not have a really strong DHA odor. The product also has great ingredients, like vitamin A and E, which left my sin feeling soft and smooth.
To the reviewers that complain about the color guide going on streaky and flaking off, yes, it does look uneven when you apply. This is why you apply the product at night before bed, don't panic, the streaks will indeed wash away!! and if you are rubbing it until it flakes off, you are rubbing too much and actually pulling the product off the skin, worry less about the color guide looking streaky and just get the product everywhere. This is why you use a product like a gel, for quick easy application )in other words, quit trying to make it difficult!!) I even put mine on a bit more sloppy in areas (that would be covered up just in case) to see if the product would streak. To my happiness, streak free! I look greeat!

This was expensive compared to some of the products on the market but very much so it is worth it. It has a very natural application. It is colored so you can see right away where to apply if missed. No dark elbows and knees.

I use this product every day or every other day depending. I have used their mousse and the flawless most (my least favorite but got great reviews on here!). I love the instant color this gives but be careful about activities that involve sweat or water- the color guide washes off easily and will cause uneven streaking (but won't affect tan underneath). I will agree with other reviewers that you need to blend quickly. I do not think it feels greasy at all ( I have very oily skin) but I only dispense this product section by section so I can blend quickly. When I try to cover too large an area I can get a little uneven if it sits too long on my skin before blending. Other than that I am sold. I think most of these have their quirks but I have just bought my second tube and don't plan on switching!!

I'm very disappointed in the performance of this product given its price point. The application was difficult and it was virtually impossible to make the application even. The color guide is a beautiful color, but flakes almost immediately after application. On top of all this, once the application site is wet (like after taking a shower hours after application) it almost completely fades away. The color is barely apparent and splotchiness is immediately revealed. This is so disappointing given that it's supposed to be a "deep, dark tan" (according to the product's description).

I have a medium to dark complexion that tans easily in the sun. I bought this product because I wanted a really good self tanning lotion that provided deep color. I was really dissapointed. The lotion was extreamly difficult to apply - it did not spread at all on the skin. I applyed very streaky and dried into dark patches, making me look like I had some kind of skin disorder. The streaks and patched did wash off in my next shower, but so did any tan I had from the product. It was absolutely the worst formulated self tanner I have ever experienced. Any cheap drug store brand is 100 times better than this.
