I have very very over processed hair, it's frizzy, wavy, i've dyed it and I have split ends.
I have little hairs everywhere it's basically a lion mane mixed with a birds nest ha.
Now the only things I don't like is that it doesn't have heat controls, and after a view times of straighting a section it would smell burnt.
Also I found myself straightning one section about 3-5 times for it to be straight and not frizzy or flipping.

The best thing about this is that this straightner is very good for creating curls and volume

Color is awesome. I have always wanted a red straightener or some fun color. I have had a chi iron before but it was the original one. Well I was excited to take this ultra chi home. Just to let you know I have medium hair (not too thick nor too thin) and its wavy. So it's not like I have super curly hair. Well the good thing is it heated up super fast. Bad thing is it didn't straighten as well. It took several passes through my hair. Not just 1, 2, or 3 passes but 8 passes before my hair was somewhat straight. It still wasn't that straight. I was surprised! I have been so loyal to the chi products. So overall it was nice in appearance but ineffective as a straightener. I can't even imagine how many times someone with curly hair would have to run it through. I think this product would be better for smoothing out thin and pretty much straight hair. I am not saying all chi products are bad. I had one straightener for 5 years and loved it, but this one just wasn't quite what I was expecting.

I had my original CHI for 7 years and my mom had hers for 10 both worked great! I had to buy new because the cord finally developed a short. I decided to buy the CHI Ultra because it was the same price as the original CHI. I would have to say they are very similar. The CHI Ultra does do well on slightly damp hair and leaves it shiny. Either way you go CHI is a great and durable brand.

Expensive but I could definitely see the difference from my old cheap iron. Also easier on my hair than my old iron. My hair is mostly flat and straight on top with a slight wave near my ears but is thick and wiry underneath- the iron even straightens the wiry part and makes my hair look longer and less poofy than it does naturally.

Purchased for my daughter at Christmas.
Light started flickering after several months & then at 6 months for whatever reason it totally stopped working.
Fortunately we saved the box & product was still under warranty. Chi really backs their products from what I'm told. Lots of people told us their Chi's lasted about 5 years.
Cindy, store manager in Arlington Heights couldn't have been more helping getting a replacement!
So far so good. Hopeful with this one!
Heats up super fast & takes minimal time to straighten hair.
