Comments about Hot Tools CeramicTI Tourmaline Curling Iron:

I use this product every day or at the very least, every other day. I have owned countless curling irons over the years and they have ranged in prices. (From cheap to over $200) I read countless reviews on this product and a few others before I purchased this one and have been very pleased! I will be sticking with this iron should it need replacing!

Comments about Hot Tools CeramicTI Tourmaline Curling Iron:

Was super excited to try this 2" curling iron. I wanted to try this large size after finding that using smaller (1 - 1 1/4") irons give me unnatural, tight curls. I thought that the super large barrel would help give me smooth, natural waves. Not the case for me. After some playing around with it, I did get some wave, but it lasted less than an hour (yes I sprayed!). I have medium length thick hair that typically curls fairly well.

Comments about Hot Tools CeramicTI Tourmaline Curling Iron:

For curling irons in this price range, this is a good one. I love that it comes with a spare spring, as of course any thing with moving parts has it's shelf life. I love that as long as I take care of it (I dropped it 1 too many times and it only lasted an extra 6 months before the casing around the base of the iron fell apart). So DON'T drop it :-) I get 12-18 months use out of one spring. So I replace my curling irons about every 3-4 years. I have long, fine but thick hair, and a LOT of hair. Length is to mid back. So curling over 2 feet of hair every other day, I'd say this is a great iron. I can travel with this one too when I use the hot iron-safe pouches. I use the 1-1/4" barrel iron to get a more natural wavy look. I love that the ceramic barrel is not as damaging on my hair as regular metal irons. I usually buy this from Ulta when it is on special so the cost is totally reasonable as I don't expect it to last an eternity. I can't justify $100 plus for a curling iron, this one is just awesome for the price.

Comments about Hot Tools CeramicTI Tourmaline Curling Iron:

Overall the product is awesome for smoothing out my thick frizzy curly hair. However, I will warn, the purple coating peels when the iron is hot so those particles are getting stuck in my hair which has been very frustrating.

This product is great on thicker wavy or curly hair because it gives your hair this beautiful shine and movement, you will be delighted with the end results, mine were better than expected. You don't end up with huge curls like I thought it would, the curling iron gives your hair body without the frizz with a weightless feel.

Comments about Hot Tools CeramicTI Tourmaline Curling Iron:

I used this same iron is a 1 1/4 barrel and wanted a smaller barrel for curls instead of wave. I have long layers and medium thickness but I have lots of little frizzies that pop out now that I've gotten older. My hair doesn't usually hold a curl very well but this iron curls well and they hold without lots of product in my hair. It doesn't fry my hair or give me excess damage like cheaper irons. Heats up fast and the cord is nice and long. I cant say enough about this iron except buy it on sale because it's pricy otherwise.

                    A:

Titanium heats the fastest to the hottest temperature, so it is a great option for thick, coarse hair. Ceramic Tourmaline helps to infuse hair with moisture and shine, so it is a great option for damaged, distressed, or over-processed hair. Gold heats quickly and evenly and is a great option for all hair types and textures.

What is the difference between this Ceramic tourmaline curling iron and the Nano Ceramic curling iron? Which one gives better results and is better for your hair?

                    A:

If you looked at the irons under a microscope, it’s like the difference between granulated sugar and powdered sugar. The ceramic iron is smooth, but not like the smoothness of the NanoCeramic. Essentially what happens is that the ceramic is ground into a fine powder that is applied and fired onto the barrels multiple times. It will produce similar results with the difference being that the NanoCeramic iron will be even gentler on the hair than the regular ceramic.
