I had gotten this free when I had ordered another item. I had thought it was going to be a travel size but it is full size which really was surprising.
I think this would probably work for many people but it didn't for me. I have never had much luck with curling irons. My hair either doesn't hold the curl or flattens out within a few hours. Curling brushes & flat irons work best for me. I have thick kind of course hair which is resistent to curl. I do really like the curling brush that I ordered to qualify for this free iron.

I have used Hot Tools curling irons before and the product heats up quickly and lasts quite a while. This one didn't heat quickly, or slowly, dispite increasing the temperature settings. I will be returning this product, and looking for a different Hot Tools product.

Both will work equally well. The difference is that the white and black curling iron is NanoCeramic, which is just a finer grade of ceramic.

                          A:

To make it a wand, you can wrap the hair over the entire iron and clamp, or remove the clamp. You would pull off the iron stand from both sides of the iron and unscrew the clamp and remove.

                          A:

The difference is the material of each -

CeramicTI Tourmaline (purple) - Ceramic Tourmaline surface with titanium additive emits gentle far-infrared heat and negative ions to increase hydration and shine while reducing frizz.

24K gold plated (gold) - Even heat distribution create long-lasting curls and waves leaving hair looking smooth and glossy.

NanoCeramic (black & white) - NanoCeramic barrel creates an ultra smooth surface for frizz-free styles.

                          A:

Either is suitable for fine hair, since both irons feature variable heat settings. If you looked at the irons under a microscope, it's like the difference between granulated sugar and powdered sugar. The CeramicTI Tourmaline iron is smooth, but not like the smoothness of the NanoCeramic iron. Essentially what happens is that the ceramic is ground into a fine powder that is applied and fired onto the barrels multiple times. It will produce similar results with the difference being that the NanoCeramic iron will be even gentler on the hair than the regular CeramicTI Tourmaline.
