Comments about Chi Silk Infusion Silk Reconstructing Complex:

There is not much to say about this product beside the fact that it really makes your hair soft and shiny. Only use a small amount though because if you use too much it can get a little sticky and heavy, I only use it mid- way down my hair though, avoid the roots. I have shoulder length thin hair and I use about a dime size of it. Its really pricey but it'll last forever. The only down side is the smell, its not awful but i like lighter and fruitier scents. It doesn't smell awful though.

I use the Chi Silk infusion after I wash and condition my hair. I detangle my hair first, then I apply it to my hair, and let my hair air dry. After it dries, my hair is very soft and silky.I just love the product!

After shampooing and conditioning, towel dry hair and pour a small amount into palm of hand (size of a quarter). Finger through hair, then comb through. This seems to lessen any damage by the hair-dryer. Result is manageable, shiny hair. Love it.

                  A:

We recommend applying to damp hair prior to each time you heat style (blow dry) due to its thermal protection properties. It is lightweight and can be applied daily to shield hair from environmental damage. How much to use depends on your hair type and length.

What is the difference between the Silk Infusion and Infra Treatment? I've been using the Silk Infusion, which I love and recently ordered more, but received the Infra Treatment instead.

                1 answer

                • Staff Expert

                  A:

Silk Infusion is a serum used to smooth and reconstruct hair while adding shine and heat protection. It is a great styling product to use in conjunction with the Infra Treatment. The Infra Treatment is a conditioner designed to be used with the Infra shampoo to moisturize and protect the hair. The products serve very different purposes, but work great together as a hair care system.

              • Q:

Is this product considered as a leave -in after washing? How does it compare to CHI Keratin Mist?

                1 answer

                • Staff Expert

                  A:

Yes, this is a leave-in treatment. It is more gel-serum like in texture than Keratin Mist, which is a super lightweight liquid spray, and it helps to improve hair's manageability. You can use the two in conjunction to combat frizz for silky smooth hair.

                • Staff Expert

                  A:

CHI Silk Infusion is a treatment and can be used on dry or wet hair. If applied to dry hair, using heat will help infuse the product into the hair's cuticle to help reconstruct and strengthen the hair. When you apply it on wet hair, the product will set in once dried. Keratin Silk Infusion will be the same and is ideal for hair that is prone to frizziness.

              • Q:

Is chi silk infusion or chi keratin silk infusion better for a very frizzy and wavy hair? and which one is paraben, silicone and sulfate free?
Asked on 8/17/2015 by Menna from Cairo, Egypt

                1 answer

                • Staff Expert

                  A:

Either of these products would work great for frizzy, wavy hair! However, the Keratin Silk Infusion has added benefits for very dry and damaged hair. These products are paraben-free and sulfate-free. However, they do contain some silicones, as is standard for a serum.

How are this product and chi total protect different?

                1 answer

                • Staff Expert

                  A:

CHI Silk Infusion is specifically designed for use with heat styling tools. It reconstructs damaged hair, increases hair strength and aids in preventing heat damage from tools. The Total Protect is designed more specifically to protect hair from environmental factors such as the sun or chlorine damage.
