The CHI Pro is quiet and lightweight and works well until it breaks. I have used the dryer 1x a day for the past year and a half and suddenly there is a short/bad connection where the electric cord enters the handle. I would return the dryer if I could find my receipt - I will not be replacing the broken dryer with another CHI.

I like the end result but am a bit disappointed in the lack of settings. You have hot and hotter - nothing in between.

I have had three, yes, three CHI hair dryers and they all ended up the same way. After several months they simply blow cold air. It must be a design defect and they should fix it. I have read other reviews and they had the same experience. I would never buy CHI again.

This is a great hair dryer, as you can see with all the 'pros' marked above. HOWEVER, DO NOT buy this product unless you want to buy a new hair dryer in 6 months. The heating element went out in my first dryer within 6 months of purchase. Thankfully I was under warranty, so I received a new one, but now the replacement's heating element has went out, too, and my warranty is expired! This is ridiculous. I don't pay this much money to constantly be worried if my hair dryer will break, then spend time and money shipping it back, IF it is within the 1 year warranty. NOT worth the trouble.

I should have known better. A couple of years ago I got Chi straightening iron and it completely died within a year. The Chi dryers at Ulta were on sale for $99 so I decided to give it another try. Blow dryer was great, no complaints, then at 5 months the heating component went out. FRUSTRATING! I contacted the company and they said they would replace-ok fine that's great, but do I want another dryer that will do that in another 5 months? NO. I read all the reviews after that fact and most people say their heating component went out as well. I'm now getting the Sedu Revolution 6000i, Hope this helps you.
