Comments about Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion Turbo Vented Oval Hairbrush:

I absolutely love this brush. The bristles do a great job straightening and adding shine, but are gentle. I have have long hair and the shape works great to straighten and also creating a slight curl at the end. It is by far the most I have ever paid for a brush, but it was totally worth it!

Oval shape does not get tangled like the round version. Smoothes thick hair and easy to dry all the layers. I would recommend to a friend.

Good quality brush; it's gentle on hair and scalp but still gets the job done. I use with a hairdryer for daily straightening of wavy hair. The short bristles and oval shape make it easy to get a slight under-curl with my medium length hair. Love the way it feels to just brush my hair again!

Comments about Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion Turbo Vented Oval Hairbrush:

My hair type: Gentle natural wave, slightly thin, but I have A LOT of hair. Length: 6 inches longer than shoulder length - previously 10 inches longer than shoulder length.

Other products used while drying: John Frieda hair serum, occasionally a moussing wax or straightening gel.

I understand concerns about the product listed by other users. Let me address a few:
-Hair gets caught between handle and the base of the brush.
-- Yes, that can happen. As my brush has gotten older (1 yr with use 3-4x per week) the handle glue has given way and the rubber handle has started to slide down the pedestal, thus leaving a gap where my hair gets caught. I fixed it by gluing it back on. Easy.

-Hair isn't smooth/the brush doesn't catch all the hair.
--I struggled with using the brush properly initially. What I've found that works best is to use a clip to hold up part of your hair, and take one section at a time. This sounds high maintenance, but it actually shortened my styling time because I wouldn't have to use a straightener. I usually do 3 "levels" - starting with my "under" hair - from about my earlobe to earlobe horizontally across my scalp, and dry that first with everything else clipped up. Then I go to the next layer - from temple to temple. The top of my hair is the most temperamental.

I'm lazy, so usually I just shower at night, let my hair dry while I sleep, and then it's just damp enough in the morning to REALLY shorten my drying time and still get straight hair with this brush. It puts your hair in a good drying position to get the right amount of volume too. Think Reese Witherspoon - not Dolly Parton.

Pay attention next time you're in a salon and ask your stylist to show you how to use a round brush. Do it the same way.

This brush is nice because it is so big, that even with long hair you don't get the snarls that happen when you overlap hair in a roundbrush. The bristles hold the hair in place while the heat smooths the hair.

I recommend this. I was actually thinking about buying another one because I get free shipping if I add another few dollars to my order... but mine isn't quite beat up enough to justify replacing. I WILL be buying another when the bristles get too splayed though.

And to prove I'm a real person - here is a misspelled word: Prodcut Comenttss

I have thick curly hair that i always flat iron. I thought i should lay off the flat iron and blow dry more so need good tools.
This seemed like a good size and good bristles. Its good, however, i ended up returning because i got a cheaper and just as effective one from Walmart.

I love this brush. Had heard that the Boar bristles were better for your hair. Would like to have a more compact one and I will be buying a round one.
