Comments about L'Oréal-Preference Preference True Brunettes:

I used the hair color to try to get red out of my hair and it did not even put a dent in the color.

Comments about L'Oréal-Preference Preference True Brunettes:

I really thought this color was very pretty. Just wish I had read other reviews before I used it. It turned my hair a really dark brown almost black. My normal hair color is a dark brown but was lighter from previous coloring. If you look at the back of the box my hair color looks like the darkest brown BEFORE picture. No gold at all. Now I'm just hoping the color fades fast so I can color it again. The only good thing is I got it free with the reward coupon.

Comments about L'Oréal-Preference Preference True Brunettes:

I am 43, fair-skinned with freckles & probably have 25% or less grey hair. I use Feria's Copper Shimmer 74 usually. It's a bright, beautiful color that fades to a warm shade of lt, copper brown. I thought this time I would try 8G Golden Blonde. It came out just like the color on the box for lt. brown hair. I love it! The greys look like blonde highlights and it's warm dark blonde, so it doesn't wash me out.

Comments about L'Oréal-Preference Preference True Brunettes:

I was reluctant to use a permanent color on my hair but I've always trusted the L'Oreal name so I tried it. That was 20+ yrs ago and I love the product. It's actually 'Blonde Proof' lol I tried another brand ONCE. I was close to tears (with green hair) but I went ahead and bought Preference that same night. So gentle it fixed the color with no damage. I will never do that again.

Comments about L'Oréal-Preference Preference True Brunettes:

I was looking for a color that would be lighter than my natural dark brown and that would cover the few grays that I have. This color did cover the grays but turned my hair a darker brown, almost black, with a reddish tint. It's definitely not a golden brown, there is nothing golden about this color.

Comments about L'Oréal-Preference Preference True Brunettes:

I have used this L'Oreal hair product in a darker brunette shade for several years with great success, but your hair stylist believed that a lighter color would look better so I purchased a lighter shade (UL61) ash brown which looks very "mousy" and didn't give my hair the texture and lift that I was used to. Not to mention the bad hair cut!

Comments about L'Oréal-Preference Preference True Brunettes:

This was one of the worst products I've used in a long time. It ended up costing me about 150$ at a salon to correct my hair. My hair was a dark brown almost black. This product said it would lift the dark, it didn't. All it did was turn my roots white and made me look like a skunk. I did exactly like the box instructed, but it didn't even light my dark hair even a little bit. I ended up buying "color oops" to lift the dark hair, then went to a salon so they could try to get my hair and roots to match. It cost me a great deal of money. If your looking to lighten dark hair, use either color oops or bleach, otherwise do what I did and see a stylist!
