Comments about Hot Tools Good Hair Sense 1 1/4"" Nano Ceramic Curling Iron:

I bought this yesterday in store at Ulta. I originally was aiming to buy a Babyliss, but there weren't any with a 1 1/4in. barrel available. I went around the store comparing the models and settled on this one because it was ceramic and lightweight, even though it was more pricy.

My hair usually doesn't hold a curl for very long without any product unless I use my Sedu hair straightener. I tried this out with hair protectant only. It heats up very quickly, but I noticed there's no indicator to show when it's reached the desired temperature. Double clicking the temperature button locks it at that setting, which is nice if you accidentally press the button while curling, which happened once.

I started at 300 degrees for fine hair (even though my hair is not fine, it's color treated), which gave me a very soft curl at about 7-10 seconds of holding and then at 400 (for textured hair) which gave a stronger curl at about half that time. It was a little more curly than I was aiming for, but still looked very pretty. I also noticed that the top cap of the barrel started to get a it bit hot to the touch when I adjusted the temp to 400. The curls held up all night and even after I slept on my hair I awoke to the softer curls I wanted, which impressed me that my hair was still curly.

Overall, I think it performs very well, but I cant help but think that a temperature between 300-400 degrees might give me the exact curl I'm looking for. I'm going to keep experimenting. This was my first Hot Tools purchase and probably won't be my last.
