Use sparingly; goes a long way. Dermatologist suggested CeraVe facial skin care, so I love the sunscreen. I DON'T buy separate facial sunscreen -- the body screen is suitable for my sensitive face, so save your $$ buying additional for various body parts!

Because the product contains zinc, it does a wonderful job of protecting one's skin from the sun.
I have very fair skin and had no burn after several hours in the sun. Of course, I reapplied after being in the water. It is also perfectly non greasy.
It does require a bit more time to rub in because it goes on white until it is massaged in.

Comments about CeraVe Sunscreen Broad Spectrum Body Lotion SPF 50:

This product contains a high amount of Titanium Dioxide, which dermatologists have recommended to me for avoiding sun damage AND it is a naturally occurring chemical. This active ingredient performs more as a sun BLOCK, than a screen. If you have accumulative sun damage over your lifetime and/or want to seriously decrease the amount of harmful sun rays to your skin using a more natural product, this is excellent for you. I applied it faithfully while on a 19 day rafting trip through the Grand Canyon this spring, and DID NOT BURN (water and sweat resistant too). The only negative is that this active ingredient does not allow the product to rub in easily. This is a small price to pay for superior protection!

Comments about CeraVe Sunscreen Broad Spectrum Body Lotion SPF 50:

I can't really tell if this is effective with UVA/UVB protection, however, I know that this product has a strong sunblock smell, is hard to blend, and leaves a white cast. Those are the reason why I gave it a three star. On the other hand, I used this whe I went water rafting and noticed this product stayed well as I saw the white residue/cast still on me even after 6.5h under the sun. I also went on a swim at the calm part of the river. So if you don't mind the smell, the hard to blend/rub in, and white cast… go ahead and get this!

Comments about CeraVe Sunscreen Broad Spectrum Body Lotion SPF 50:

I decided to try this sunscreen for a relaxed day by the pool because I really like other CeraVe products. I also liked the physical sunscreen-only option, as sometimes products containing "chemical" sunscreens are a problem for my skin. However, this one is a dud for me.

At the time of application, it seemed to rub in fairly well, though it felt heavy and thick. About 3 minutes later, my arms and legs were streaked with chalky residue that would not rub in at all. I have extremely fair skin, so it wasn't a huge problem for me cosmetically, but my skin felt like I had been dipped into some sort of coating. That feeling lasted all day, though I had re-applied sunscreen throughout the day. When I got home, I felt like I had to scrub it off in the shower before going to bed, 10 hours later. For a product that claims "Invisible Zinc", it certainly was noticeable. People with darker skin tones than me (99.5% of the population) would probably have a horribly ashy cast after attempting to apply this thoroughly.

I did not burn in the pool or on the deck, but I would not recommend this sunscreen to anyone unless they absolutely have no other choice.
