    Not for Dry Skin!

    By Ashley

    from Southlake, TX

Comments about ULTA Resolve Resurfacing Smoothing Moisture Gel:

I bought this hoping to improve the texture of my skin. I had slightly dry skin before but nothing too severe. I used this for a week and had to stop because my skin was so dry. Flakiness, redness, sensitivity. It was so bad that my face actually hurt when I talked. Taking this back for a refund ASAP.

      • Q:

What is the difference between glycolic acid that is in this product and salicylic avid that is in my face wash? And would it be fine to use both?

          A:

Glycolic and salicylic acids are both hydroxy acids. Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid, while salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid. AHAs like glycolic acid work wonderfully to exfoliate your skin's surface for improved texture, alleviating flaky dryness, uneven skin tone, and helping to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. BHAs like salicylic acid are ideal for deep exfoliation to unclog pores and balance oil production, helping to keep skin free of blemishes and excess shine.

While you can certainly use both AHA and BHA products together in your skincare regimen, you may want to alternate their use (one in the A.M., one in the P.M., or one every other day), depending on your skin's tolerance and level of sensitivity. If your face wash contains a low percentage of salicylic acid (1% or less), you should not experience any irritation when using it together with this product.
