I don't use a lot of make - up, but this brush is great for blending after I apply primer and concealer. If anything settles into fine lines this buffs everything to a smooth finish.
Perfect replacement to another one I've had for years.

I bought this on a bogo and this is the first time I have tried this brand. I am so happy with it that now I wished I had bought extra. this is the kind of make up tool that when you lose it or the life span has expired and you cant find it again...you cry! And I am a make-up brush junkie. I buy, I try and when I spend good money and the brush does not apply effectively...I cry!
this one is great for powder application and the brush is soft enough that you can layer if you desire. I love this thing...will be on the look out for the next bogo to stock up! Will also try other brushes in this line

I use this product to apply my powder. I have a compact powder and it applies AMAZINGLY but I have not tried loose powder with it yet. Very compact and I love the pink case it's in. The only problem I have with it is that when I try to make it smaller it won't stay that size but that is the only problem I have. I love this brush!

Comments about Real Techniques Retractable Kabuki Brush:

In the bleak midwinter I do need a touch of sunshine in a compact and this brush delivers it to my face in the most natural way!! It takes my bronzer to the areas the sun touches for a radiant look that will tide me over until the summer returns. It's nicely angled to ensure even application and it helps take the grimness out of my winter face. You can also load it up with a touch of bronzer, pop on the lid, and you're good for any touch ups should the occasion arise. I'm a cream blush devotee, but I'm sure powder blush users could load it up for a color pick-me-up on the go!

what is the difference between this brush and the stippling or powder brush? I'm looking for light, all over coverage of a setting/finishing powder. I'm a beginner and not sure which brush is best to achieve my goal. thanks.

                    A:

The great thing about your question is that you really can't go wrong with any of the brushes you mentioned for application! Since you are looking for light, all-over coverage, I would recommend either the powder brush or the stippling brush. They both are going to give you a beautiful, flawless finish that's light & airbrushed-looking. The Retractable Kabuki will give you more coverage, based on the amount of bristles, how densely they are packed and the angle that the bristles are cut (they are designed to hold more product).

o The Stippling brush is wonderful for achieving that light finished look you talk about. The duo fiber bristles are cut in such a way to hold the product, but disperse it in a lighter way than the Retractable Kabuki. This brush also is great for multi-tasking. You can use it for setting/finishing, but also for application of foundation, powder and blush. If you're a beginner, that might be a great option for you as far as being able to use it so many different ways.

o The Powder brush is just that – perfect for powder! It will also give you a lighter look, but perhaps based on the number of bristles and the cut, it is going to give you slightly more coverage than the Stippling. You can multi-task with this brush (using it for powder as well as blushes and bronzers), but it doesn't give you the option to use it for foundations.

We hope this extra info helps! :-)

Here are the length measurements for the Real Techniques Retractable Kabuki Brush:

                    • With the cap on, brush retracted: 4.75" long
                    • Without cap on, brush retracted: 4.5" long
                    • Brush "out", cap off: since the brush has an angled bristle head, the length from the base of the brush to the longest bristle is just under 4.5" long.

                    We hope this helps! :-)

                    From Real Techniques:

"Our brushes are all made of the same synthetic hair material. However, some of the hairs are produced slightly differently to create the best end result for the brush/product types. So, both the Kabuki and Powder have wavy hair and a slightly smaller bristle diameter in comparison to some of our other brushes like the foundation brush."
